  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Because the rulers in the Federal Government don't want to send those millions of illegal immigrants back. If the Federal Government really, really wanted to send back the millions of illegal immigrants, then it could be made to happen.
This represents a fundamentally broken view of governance in a democracy ("rulers") and of the capacity and resources of these particular agencies.

Yes, I agree.

It is because illegals have lowered the wages of those jobs that this has become an issue. They did not work them back in the day...
As you said we have always had seasonal workers, it never affected the local butcher, electrician, plumber. Illegals worked strictly very low end work....

Yes, I understand illegal immigrants have kept wages low in some industries. The hotel industry - until recently, kept wages flat for service staff...for decades. The same is true in construction, etc.

And btw, American businesses, including businesses owned by Donald Trump, took full advantage of immigrant labor.

Another issue, is teenagers used to do some of that work. Now, oh no our kids cannot do that. It is more to do with attitude. My older sisters picked berries, worked in a cannery during the summer to make money for school clothes, etc. Mowing lawns..Kids don't do that anymore. Lawn maintenence companies were for the wealthy with big lawns that a cartaker maintained much more strictly than just a mow job, or picking a few weeds. Now it is illegals that took over that....When I was in grade school early jr high school, We lived where there were fields with crops all around us. Farmland. Teenagers from the city would swarm the fields. It was normal. Making some money while they could before school started. Saving up for that car, or whatever kids want to use it for...... Not today. It's attitude is what it is..

I can relate and agree. To this day, I still do my own yard work...while 90% of my neighbors hire landscaping companies, many of which are staffed with immigrant labor. There's a "this kind of work is below me" attitude with some of the younger generations IMO.

He's just going after the criminals first... We have to get the gangs and cartels out first along with any terrorists and foreign actors.

Oh.. and the Haitians get free plane rides...

Once that's done we will deal with the rest somehow. Probably keep many, doubt there's much choice.
Well, honestly as much as I support deporting people for any crime ( including traffic infractions just because they are here illegally really I would be OK with particularly DACA having a PATH to citizenship not just freely given as LONG as that was used togather with closing the border and tighting restrictions on coming here.

They shouldn't have been let into the country in the first place. DHS isn't doing their job, border patrol isn't doing their job, no one is doing their job unless the new job is killing Americans citizens and placing them in danger.

I guess when China is your boss this is what you get.

Just waiting for Trump to get back into office for someone to care about the American people again, someone not sold out to China...
We do not know yet if Trump will get back in office.

Answer how Trump plans to carry out his mass deportation plan. That is the topic of your thread, no?
I do not know how Trump plans to do it, but I do have an idea of how it could be done.

If we deported people every time they were caught breaking a law (including a traffic infraction and every time they tried to use government services that means hospitals (once stable) and enrolling their kids in school they would either get deported much more quickly OR if they are smart leave on their own to give them the chance at quicker and easier LEGAL reentry. If the kids were citizens parents have a choice you can take them home ( when they turn 18 they can legally come back by default OR you can place them in the foster care system but one way or another you are leaving this country.

Stopping the problem at the border will be a big help. We can at least cut down on the number coming in.

Trump has repeatedly pledged to carry out the country’s largest-ever deportation operation after record-setting numbers of illegal US-Mexico border crossings under President Biden.

Polling shows that the idea has majority support among voters ahead of the Nov. 5 election.

A Scripps News/Ipsos poll released Wednesday found that 54% of Americans “strongly” or “somewhat” support the mass deportation of illegal immigrants, while 43% are opposed.

A CBS News/YouGov survey released in June found that 53% of Hispanic registered voters favor expelling all undocumented immigrants — and 50% support the construction of federal holding facilities to house them before deportation.

“Kamala Harris is out of touch,” said Trump campaign spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt.

What was this about Democracy again?
Will this all happen in say, two weeks?

That sounds extremely sinister. What kind of proposal would you make?

Edit: don’t worry about responding.

That’s not the mass deportation being talked about.

I don't know, a further vetting before deciding on a path to citizenship... They can't stay here as illegals, that just allows these bad actors to take advantage of them.

It only works though with an actual secure border going forward though. We can't ever ever ever allow such idiocy again!

P.S. this is just how I talk. I am not so good at parsing words and walking on egg shells. I just talk normally... I'm sick of the egg shells.

No it is not. It happened to me and my fellow workers.
Because of this.
Plumbers, electricians, butchers are not seasonal work for teenagers..
And this.

Teenagers do not lower the wages of plumbers, electricians etc. They don't hire them to work in place of their higher paid worker. Adult illegals do that.
Guest workers to pick crops seasonally is fine. They can take those wages home, and live ok in their economic situation.

Oh we can do more than cut it down. We can cut that off just like a faucet and I'm all in on by any means necessary.

If we don't have effective control of our borders we aren't a country.

We are a nation in free fall, we have to stop this. It's a crime against every single American citizen. A violation of their oaths.

Illegals don't hire themselves. Businesses employ them. And they've chosen them over you. That's your problem. They're not invested in you. Their priority is their bottom line and shareholders if applicable.

But you can't thwart them. So you pick on the little guy and blame them for your problems. You scream about the border because the truth is too unsettling. But if you'd face it head on you wouldn't be upset.

There's a systematic practice of prioritizing a group of people over the populace in this nation. They do it with the wealthy all the time. It happened with whites in the past. Now they're doing with foreigners.

You've seen this play before. Why are you surprised. Did they cease to care when the dream was threatened? Or did it occur when the income gap widened? Was it the influx of foreigners?

Perhaps they never cared at all and it wasn't evident until they touched your dignity. Now it's too hard to ignore. When he treated the rich man better he showed you who he was and you should have believed him. The refusal to do so is why everyone's mad. That was your sign.

For most who come in illegally, there is no quicker and easier path. Legal entry is very lengthy and costly. For the desperate, they will chance illegal entry as pretty much their only option.

First step is deport those who commit crimes and do not have legal status. At the same time, call it first step part two, get very hard on employers who hire illegal immigrants. Leave hospitals out of it. Health care workers are not police and immigrants will avoid necessary medical care if deportation is a threat.

Nothing will happen though until Congress stops playing political games and decides to actually do their job. It’s going to take a lot of manpower and funding to do anything about the border and existing illegal immigrants.

They work for half the pay. And they create an assembly line type mentality. They do one or two aspects of your job until they learn it well then they move them on to another aspect. They do this because they hire them for lower wages. So, after they go through that process for a year or whatever the time it takes. They gain two workers that replace YOU, at a lower ongoing cost.
So the problem is as I said they lower wages.
Yes, that is a problem.
Nobody is irreplaceable, Nobody.....
