  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Why weren't they sent back?
Because the rulers in the Federal Government don't want to send those millions of illegal immigrants back. If the Federal Government really, really wanted to send back the millions of illegal immigrants, then it could be made to happen.

So they're letting them in?

Harris is justified in raising these questions.
Trump has yet to address how he would do it nor the implications.

“They have pledged to carry out the largest deportation — a mass deportation — in American history. Imagine what that would look like and what that would be,” the Democratic nominee told the Congressional Hispanic Caucus.

“How’s that going to happen? Massive raids, massive detention camps?” Harris asked in an incredulous tone. “What are they talking about?”

Kamala Harris mocks Trump call for mass deportation of illegal immigrants

Of course, we still don't know how Trump plans to carry out this promise....

They were not "let into the country."
Oh so mayorkas was telling the truth for three years? The border was closed...
DHS is doing the best they can with the resources they available to them.
Biden Harris would not close the border, and even denied it was open...So the border was closed why a need for any resources.

Until the primaries and they realized the significant problem it was for them.
I have no idea what that means. The fact is, Americans have been supporting China and other cheap manufacturing countries for decades.
Not all cheap labor from other nations is because of slave labor.
We want our cheap goods at Walmart, but then complain when jobs go overseas. We want higher wages, but then complain prices go up to cover those higher wages.
Well we pay way to much now due to inflation because it is being spent on illegal immigration.
Let's see how you feel when Trump slaps a 20% tariff (or more) on most of the items in the Walmart shopping cart..
He has tarriffs before. We were doing fine.

Dropping them back in the countries they come from...
He could just do what Abbott was doing, that outraged the current Administration so.

Just take them to a legal border crossing, and politely give them a choice. Either cross back over; or go to prison.

I don't understand why the current administration spends so much time weaponizing the legal system against their political opponents, instead of enforcing the law, that would diminish the crime wave being waged against the American people.

Yes, as well as put it back on the Mexican government as well. They let them into their country, to come here. They made money off of those people. Yeah let them deal with what they did as well.
I think some are going leave anyway if Trump gets elected.

Oh so mayorkas was telling the truth for three years? The border was closed...

"Open" and "Close" border is a misnomer.
Just as a "Secure border" was years ago.
For 15 years, I have yet to encounter a Republican who could define what a "secure border" is.
I don't expect you can define a "closed" border either.

Biden Harris would not close the border, and even denied it was open...So the border was closed why a need for any resources.

See above. Those terms are meaningless.

Until the primaries and they realized the significant problem it was for them.

The existing order is not a solution. The courts could and proabably will overturn it.

Not all cheap labor from other nations is because of slave labor.

No. But that's beside the point. How do you know how that cheap imported good you purchase is made?

Well we pay way to much now due to inflation because it is being spent on illegal immigration.

You'll have to explain that one.
Know this: If you deport 15-20 million people, somebody is going to have to fill the labor gap. Labor cost will go UP. Wages will go up. And the price of goods and services will go up. The fact is, (whether you admit it or not) Americans have been benefiting from a low cost, immigrant workforce.

He has tarriffs before. We were doing fine.

The tarrifs in place today are limited and targetted. Trump is propsing 10-20% on *all* imports and even higher for Chinese imports.

What does this have to do with Border Czar Kamala's incompetence?

Well ask mayorkas, he is the one claiming it for three years, along with the rest of the democrats? So what is their definition. But one thing is sure all these resources were not needed according to them..
See above. Those terms are meaningless.
So the border is wide open....
The existing order is not a solution. The courts could and proabably will overturn it.
Biden has ignored the supreme court with constitutoanl violations, it is no problem for him. We the tax payers pay off all these college educations.
No. But that's beside the point. How do you know how that cheap imported good you purchase is made?
Goods made in countries that are poorer is not the same as having a slave class of workers.
You'll have to explain that one.

They are guest workers, from a poor country. It cost much less for everything in Mexico. They make pretty good in their eyes to take it back home.
The tarrifs in place today are limited and targetted. Trump is propsing 10-20% on *all* imports and even higher for Chinese imports.
Trump did fine with them before. He has already done this once. So your warnings are falling flat with me.
But you sure seem to be ok or even approve of a slave class here.

I don't know what you mean by "slave class". In any case, I didn't say I was okay with low wages...I was simply stating an economic fact. The price of goods go up when the cost to make them increases.

That's an interesting perspective. I hadn't looked at it that way before; but it makes perfect sense.

Yes, my brother, the Federal Government allowed them to cross over our borders illegally.

Having people live here and work our fields, and remaining here as poor, very poor people. Guest workers are temporary only to pick crops a go back home. Kind of like people going to Alaska for six months, to work one of their fishing boats. They do it because it is enormous pay....
For guest workers it is a similar thing for them. They go back home with a lot of money according to their costs of living. They live well off of it..... Different concepts.

We've had a guest worker program in the United States for a very long time, long before illegal immigration became an issue. There's a place for temporary, seaonsal workers in our economy. However, there's also demand for permanent low skill workers. Our immigration policy has failed to address that demand - mainly due to a Congress that is hamstrung by the potiics of illegal immigration. Good legislation would address the labor demand, enabling workers to migrate legally.

It is because illegals have lowered the wages of those jobs that this has become an issue. They did not work them back in the day...
As you said we have always had seasonal workers, it never affected the local butcher, electrician, plumber. Illegals worked strictly very low end work....
Another issue, is teenagers used to do some of that work. Now, oh no our kids cannot do that. It is more to do with attitude. My older sisters picked berries, worked in a cannery during the summer to make money for school clothes, etc. Mowing lawns..Kids don't do that anymore. Lawn maintenence companies were for the wealthy with big lawns that a cartaker maintained much more strictly than just a mow job, or picking a few weeds. Now it is illegals that took over that....When I was in grade school early jr high school, We lived where there were fields with crops all around us. Farmland. Teenagers from the city would swarm the fields. It was normal. Making some money while they could before school started. Saving up for that car, or whatever kids want to use it for...... Not today. It's attitude is what it is..
