I clarified that already.
Yes wealth redistribution is wrong if it is forced. And that's not what God was commanding. Did you think it was?
Read them both! Come on...In what way?
Yup. I think that's good. The poor had to go out into the fields and do the work to get it. Jubilee was great as well. God has a lot of good ideas. It's interesting though that people really want to use the OT to support some things but utterly reject it for others. There seems like an agenda is at play.OTOH, God always had "programs" for the poor, as well. Two key ideas were the idea of Jubilee and the fact that farmers were ordered not to harvest from the edges of their fields or to pick up anything they harvested that dropped -- with the idea that the poor would come and be able to get what they needed.
Yup if they were taken from those according to their ability and given to those who had need.
Like I said I'm okay with some of that. Marx just put words to it. If memory serves most taxes were taken from from everyone and then just given and hoarded by the governing powers to be used as they saw fit. Often nit given to those in need but given as favors or to build armies, or pet projects etc. Most of the time the poor got little to nothing despite the fact they still paid.
Marx idea was a bit different and in today's society we see much more of that philosophy in our tax systems and how they are used.
You sound a bit like a marxist there, comrade.Yup if they were taken from those according to their ability and given to those who had need.

Tge US didn't even have federal income tax until the Civil War and it was revealed in 1872. It wasn't until 1913 that it was reinstated with the 16th ammendment.
Winston Churchill put it slightly differently. The measure of the greatness of a society is not how it treats those with the most, but how it treats those with the least.
Not really. Being charitable is is not Marxist. Did you think.it was?You sound a bit like a marxist there, comrade.
The working poor are earning their pay. They are not earning the handouts. Most of the poor in the US do work, that's why they are called the working poor.
Poor people here have a cell phone, cable or subscription TV, air conditioning and a car. Much more than in some countriesThe working poor are earning their pay. They are not earning the handouts.
To be the same thing would require the poor to got out and work in order to collect the money set aside for them. They would need to go out and work for it. It wasn't taken to their house and dropped off. They had to leave their homes go out I to the fields and work.to collect it.
It's not the same thing as working a job and earning the pay for it.
I do understand that sentiment. Our priority should be taking care of those who cannot care for themselves.I see nothing wrong with that.
The measure of the greatness of a society is not how it treats those with the most, but how it treats those with the least.
Absolutely. The poor here aren't really poor.Poor people here have a cell phone, cable or subscription TV, air conditioning and a car. Much more than in some countries
We have the richest poor people in the worldAbsolutely. The poor here aren't really poor.
If we took that money and fave it to the ones who really needed it, it would be awesome.
We don't just give too much money to those who don't need it we do it for all kinds of programs. Not just individuals, but corporations as well. Everyone is at rhe government trough.
Those two comments don't seem to correlate.I have been reading many good posts on X (Twitter) and have been coming to a good understanding of what is going on with American politics.
My god doesn’t care about my politics, there’s this “free-will” stuff I use.I have been reading many good posts on X (Twitter) and have been coming to a good understanding of what is going on with American politics. As I have been considering what God is doing as the result of the prayers of Christians, I can see that prominent politicians whom we previously thought were honest and had integrity are now being exposed as corrupt. Their sins are starting to find them out. Assassinations that were previously thought were the actions of individual nutters, are now being seen as been planned by others who have desired to eliminate opposition to their policies and to hide their own corruption. I am not going to make the mistake of predicting Trump's victory in the upcoming election, but I have a good idea that his following is far greater among Americans than in 2020. I believe that God is exposing Kamala for who she is, and her sinfulness is coming to the fore. God is allowing that liar Satan to inspire her policies to alienate many people from her, by presenting her as someone similar to a Communist. She would have been thoroughly condemned during the MaCarthy anti-Communist era.
I may not be correct in everything I said, and I don't regard myself as a prophet, but if this is a prophecy, I am certain that it is a lot better than Kenneth Copeland and the other Word of Faith prophets out there.
It's a slippery slope. One day you're for hungry people given bread, the next you support sex change of minors and try to tear down the borders so all the lazy foreigners who don't want to work take all the jobs. Not really. Being charitable is is not Marxist. Did you think.it was?
We currently spend 75% of our budget on welfare programs.
Can you imagine how much good we could with that money if we weren't giving it to people who.didnt need it?
I can't help but notice this post can't identify any actual differences.Read them both! Come on...
