When Was the Tomb of Jesus REALLY Discovered, National Geographic Magazine

Something from Nat Geo popped up on my phone, an ad to subscribe to the magazine. By subscribing, you supposedly get this article.
I remember the whole controversy over the Talpiot tomb years ago where Simcha Jacobovici (sp) claimed Jesus empty Tomb was found. Is anyone familiar with this new article? Are they writing about the Talpiot tomb or is this supposedly another one?
Could this be Jesus’ Tomb and will Christianity crumble?

Simcha Jacobovici is a sensationalist and I pretty much ignore whatever he claims as his latest discovery.

Writing on the Biblical Archaeology Review, Hershel Shanks described the idea that the James Ossuary came from the Talpiot tomb as “nonsense", underlining that “It all depends on Jesus' body having been moved after his initial burial in the rock-cut family tomb of Joseph of Arimathea.


A controversial documentary film, The Lost Tomb of Jesus, was produced in 2007 by director James Cameron and journalist Simcha Jacobovici, and was released in conjunction with a book by Jacobovici and Charles Pellegrinotitled The Jesus Family Tomb. The book and film make the case that the Talpiot Tomb was the burial place of Jesus of Nazareth, members of his extended family, and several other figures from the New Testament—and, by inference, that Jesus had not risen from the dead as the New Testament describes. This conclusion, while weakly supported by a statistical analysis of the names involved,[3] is rejected by most archaeologists, theologians, linguistic and biblical scholars.[1][4][5]

I don’t know if the the headline I read this time had anything to do with Simcha Jacobavici (sp) or not. I didn’t want to subscribe Nat Geo magazine just to find out.

Indeed, the Rock of Calvary, where the Crucifixion is believed to have occurred, is encased in glass at the lavish Altar of the Crucifixion and is the most-visited area within the church. Many scholars think that the Church of the Holy Sepulchre likely is the authentic spot where Jesus was crucified and buried

Remember the tomb was only used 3 days. It was not a family tomb.

Like I said earlier in this thread, I’m just afraid that one of these discovered “Jesus tombs” will be found to be right and will disprove our faith.
