Oppenheimer comes to mind.
Again you fail to include anyone that comes close to your original slur:

I'm on the fence at the mo............

Can any think of one really honest scientist in today's world ?

Oppenheimer is dead, just like all of the specific scientists you named in an earlier post. Name a specific living scientist who is dishonest and why you think they are dishonest or retract your slur.

Stop avoiding and answer the question put to you: what do you believe that scientists should do for you to stop calling them 'dishonest'?

Stop coming up with toxic vaccines, stop inventing bombs, stop making brain chips, stop making robots, stop the splicing of the DNA & finally stop making rocket ships that go no where.

That's got nothing to do with honesty, just your own personal sense of Christian moral outrage.

But at least you answered the question. Finally.

Hi there,

As a believer, I've often pondered how science and faith intersect,, especially when it comes to understanding life itself.

How do we reconcile scientific discoveries with our Christian beliefs: ?? For example, the theory of evolution or the Big Bang--concepts that seem to challenge the biblical account of creation. Yet,, many Christians find that science enhances their faith,, revealing the intricacies of God's creation.
How do you approach this balance: ?? Do you see science as a tool to better understand God's work,, or do you find certain scientific ideas conflict with your faith: ?? Let's explore how we can embrace both faith and science in our journey to understand the world and our place in it. You can also read this https://medium.com/@pkajjohnson/science-and-faith-in-harmony-contemplations-on-a-distilled-doxology-cissp/

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and experiences on this fascinating topic...! :)

Thanks,
Mitchel Johnsons

I'm not going to say much, Mittchel, because I see very little if anything to harmonize between my faith in Christ and the various physical sciences which any of us may choose to engage.

To some degree, I can understand why there are those who say they perceive properties within our universe that seemingly reflect Divine design or infer some traces of Transcendence. But from my angle in my moderately long life, I think any properties in our universe that seem to bear the marks of the Divine are quite minimal and, if anything, are being interpreted as such in terms that all too easily are influenced by an emotional subscription to the Anthropic Principle.

This isn't to say that I'm not awed by the magnificence and grandeur of the Universe in its scale and structure, but I simply don't see in it the direct fingerprints of a Creator, nor do I conceptually expect to see that sort of direct evidence staring back at me if we're contemplating the Eternal and Cosmological God of the Bible rather than the more terrestrial conceptions of ancient pagan gods that are more solar bound.

So until there's something highly substantial to harmonize, I don't have any need to do so and I more or less use Stephen J. Gould's suggestion to see my religious interests on one hand, and my scientific interests on the other hand, as Non-overlapping Magisteria.

And, for now, those are my thoughts.

Peace.

Science are one of the most honest professions I have encountered. Your denigration of them as lairs is disturbing and revealing. Similarly revealing is that you fail to defend your position and speak in clouded and obscured language.

Some might be honest; but they're honestly wrong.

For one thing, they can stop blaming their mistakes on others.

Not every mistake can be laid on the feet of scientists, AV. This has been stated to you multiple times but you choose to ignore it.

From the Quora website, the question was asked:

Question: Do scientists lie?

Answer: Some do. More often by omission, leaving out results that conflict with their hypothesis, than making up data. Apart from ethical reasons, cheating usually tends to be self-defeating. Other people working in the same field will immediately try to replicate any significant results and, when they can’t, the lies get exposed and the original author’s career is over.. Of course the process is not always immediate but, the more important the findings, the more they will be scrutinized.

That's got nothing to do with honesty,

From the Tallahassee Democrat:

On a recent anonymous questionnaire 2 percent of the scientists admitted to fabricating or falsifying data and 14 percent had seen such behavior from one or more of their colleagues.

So says you.

You can't tell when a scientist or scientific organization has been honestly wrong?

The IAU was honestly wrong, until they made a dishonest decision to correct it.

Only because you assume there are no scientists in big pharma, big management, and big government.

As soon as something like Thalidomide breaks out, they blame it on management.

Tell me, do you know if a scientist has ever been fired from his job?

2 percent and 14 percent out of how many people? Locally or worldwide?

Pluto is still Pluto. Why does it matter a jot to you or anyone that it's not classified as a planet anymore? What does it change?
