I'm not convinced that they recognize it as a problem, other than it being an obstacle at the polls for more of the same. I think that Harris understands that the majority of voters are dissatisfied with with her gross failure. with the trust of the American people, as Border Czar.

She flip flops so much that I have no idea what she believes.

I do find it ironic that the DNC thought that it was a good idea to have walls around their convention; and that the Democrats thought that it was a good idea to have the police show up in mass force to protect them.

Kamala also has a lot more Secret Service protection than her political opponents.

A problem of this magnitude needs to be addressed with proper and permanent legislation, not EO bandaids. What? The topic was on immigration. Technically the migrants/immigrants are not Americans. (Not to deny their humanity, but any migrants that die are hardly counted as "dead Americans".) I have no idea what 'zero sum game' you speak of. It makes no sense in this context.

The border being a mess has been a rallying cry of the right for my entire life. It wasn’t just magically resolved for the duration of the Trump administration. Any solutions Biden, Harris or Trump could have come up with still wouldn’t absolve Congress from their responsibility in creating this mess and not addressing it at all.

Immigration has been a problem since BEFORE Trump ran for office the first time. It was one of the issues he emphasized on his first run (remember? build a wall, and Mexico will pay for it..).
It was and still is an issue the GOP only gives lip-service to. If they had any intention of addressing it; the most recent bill would've passed, the one Trump instructed the GOP legislators to abandon becuse he needed an issue to campaign on.

There was an earlier bi-partisan Immigration Bill that passed the Senate with 68 votes in 2013 (two years before Trump's escalator ride at Trump Tower) that was also killed by the GOP, in the House.
The GOP doesn't want Congress to address immigration, it's the only Presidential campaign issue they have.
