  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I bet Jesus hugged men and women......
With brotherly love, do you have scripture about JESUS kissing or hugging women?
Shomer Negiah was the norm in those days. No touching/ kissing between opposite genders. Only for healing purposes, or the woman in repentance could touch/kiss JESUS feet.

If the Spirit's voice cannot be extracted to support a thought or position, but self-defining with others, we must assume everything He said concerning "pure" (Matthew 5:8) is to be included, just as He himself walked in "fervent love" while on earth (1 Peter 1:22). Now you raised an interesting question specific to the thread. And since He always pleased the Father, as He walked in the Spirit, but also mingled with the disreputable of this world, could also with that "natural affection" (2 Timothy 3:3), have discerned whether to resist impurity, OR, as you said, accept (Luke 7:38) the affectionate touch of purity?

For an actual citation such as times to console bereavement for instance (James 1:27), you are right, but again, we would have to remain in question of ourselves before the Father that He never participated in these many pivotal instances such as seen in this sister's post.
