  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Nope, a privilege for all.

Why are you so determined to think everyone has a right to enter America?
Because the Europeans all had a right to enter through Ellis Island. Through the archives, I saw my great-grandad's signature in the book. That's all it took. Now it's forms and an approval process. Why isn't it an open door like it was for the Scandinavians, English, French, Germans, Spanish, etc?

EDIT: I never asked straight out. Is it right that Muslims not be allowed into the country? Is that fair?

Brother, I think you may have written this post in haste. It doesn't seem coherent. Would you mind rephrasing this so I can understand what you are saying? I'm not familiar with "the to tight durant at all." I don't know what that means. Also, RIght to rights eggists. I don't know what rights you speak of and I don't know what eggists means. So I just again ask for clarification. I don't know how to respond to a post that I can't understand. I wonder in fact if you are in agreement with Trump that Muslims should not be allowed to enter our country.

I am proposing we ban this people we don’t want.
Let me guess, the people you don't want have color in their skin. Would you have a problem if it were Germans and Frenchmen trying to enter this country? As you have said before, you fear that another ethnicity may overtake the European majority. I say this country should be open to all who wish to pursue the American dream. Why is it ok for Europeans to pursue that dream and not the people with brown skin?

He did an emergency executive order because of terrorism, the left argued against it in court but lost because of the situation and it was not a "Muslim ban" but rather a ban on 5 countries that were sponsoring terror if memory serves.
He got that EO through the courts on the third try.

Why is it not okay for America to restrict their borders?

Because every man had a right to enter the country on Ellis Island. However, when the immigrants started having melanin in their skin, it became a privilege as you say. I don't think I got an answer to the question of why Muslims should be denied access to our country when white evangelicals have committed more acts of terrorism since 9/11 than any Muslim organizations. Would you care to comment on that fact? Why are people of color less deserving than European immigrants?

It's okay.

It's just not okay to do so on the basis of religion, as you have suggested.

The average person doesn’t think long term. Discriminating on such factors does make sense.

I'd imagine they would both gladly put aside their differences to destroy infidels.
You really don't know much about Sufis if that's what you imagine.

I believe that us should prioritize security.

What comes to mind when I try to understand the mindset, a song that tells me not so much but diverts my thoughts as to how privledged I am

to be be wno I am and where I am.

All things come about through Gods help.

Anyhow to the song:

Do they matter as much as Europeans? I wonder because there were no rules that stopped Europeans from entering the US through Ellis Island but now we need to keep Mexicans out of the country. Especially considering that the Southwestern United states was owned by Mexico until the US took it by military force. Maybe they just want to come home? Somehow though, they are not worthy enough to enter our country. If their lives matter equally, please tell me why Europeans have had an open door to the US and Mexicans are not to be allowed in.

Have you happened to notice the changes in America and our entire system in the last 250 years?

It's not the same situation here as it was when people were coming from Ellis Island. If it were I wouldn't have any issues with open immigration.

But now we are in an economic crisis, the people coming aren't providing their own food and housing and our government when their own citizens are going hungry are trying to provide every single need and desire these "migrants" demand.

I don't know about you but I'm loosing weight fast, my pants are falling off me every time I stand up because I can no longer afford to maintain my weight while our enemies eat from the fat of the land...

It's messed up.

You seem to have much to answer for yourself. I quoted a post of yours (my post #85) in this thread.

Romans 3:23

And here is the fact check from the liberal media on Trump’s restriction. It wasn’t a ban; you are wrong.

Don't know what you are on about here.
When have I said it is ok to discriminate?

I'm not going to quibble about something as trivial as ban vs restriction.
BTW Trump used the word "shutdown". So there you go, a third word for you to ponder and agonise over. "Shutdown", "ban", "restriction"
The word I recognise as the problem in his sentence is "Muslims"

"Donald J Trump is calling for a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States..."

I cited your gory approval of death in war. Regardless of whatever side one takes, it is vile and disgusting. You have a lot of crust being self righteous in your false enlightenment. The temporary restriction Trump had was on 7 nations so it is impossible that it was a “Moslem ban”.

Deuteronomy 30:11-20, John 3:16-21 save your soul.
