  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

it’s not that simple. You do realize falling birth rates are a world wide problem?

Because it’s a complex issue.

their children may be though because that’s what the Quran teaches.
Why do you presume the second generation to be more fanatical when the trend is to be less so and generally less religious overall in freer countries that are more liberal?

Nope. It applies to citizens in this country not to how we view immigrants.

Actually our laws which apply to immigration really are legitimately applied to immigration. We don't discriminate.

It's a bit flawed, but it has to be there.... You have to look at the situation differently from a legal perspective, or simply work on changing some of our immigration laws in a positive manner.

But you can't do any of the above without a full understanding of the situation, so moral or ethical issues are discussed first.

Then you move onto how can we positively change laws or simply our vetting process in a way that still protect Americans without discrimination...

It's the way our laws are here in America. Liberals can have positive input on things when they understand the issues, same as us.

Show me the evidence. I don’t believe you.

If Islam was a "religion" they would make perfect neighbors. The fact of the matter is, you can't separate political Islam from the "pray to whatever God you want" portion of Islam.

Christians under the New Covenant believe God himself gave mankind a certain amount of liberty. We either use our liberty in the manner God requires, or we use that same liberty to reap burning coals on our heads.

Islam is a worldview and very political system that stands diametrically opposed to our own. I can see being neighborly with a Muslim majority nation... But you can't have two completely opposing systems operating in the same nation.
Do you really think that Wahhabis and Sufis have the same worldview?

Nope.

I mentioned in one of my posts that there are sects associated with Islam that don't have or use the same holy books who would be perfectly fine for immigration and citizenship...

It's really a matter of looking more closely at who is more culturally compatible with our society at large.

We are just a far too liberal society not to be protecting that...

That says congress. Does congress run immigration?

That's not Congress, that's our Constitution... All social law flows from the constitution. You really want to make sure that is upheld. It's important.
