  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

tell tell me how this violates the first amendment
Forbidding immigrants based on religion flies in the face of freedom of religion.

Sharia is Islam. Islam is Sharia.
If you say so. I don’t know much about Islam to begin with.

I knew a Muslim girl in college who supported abortion, lgbt, drank, swore and ate pork. She still said her prayers she occasionally went to an Islamic center. She didn’t wear a hijab.

That’s rather progressive, eh?

So the option is to let Muslims overrun the country, and begin the stabbings and rapes that have taken hold across Europe? Well, at least we're upholding the Constitution, until there are 5 of 9 Mulims on the Court.
At what percentage would you consider Muslims overrunning the country?

So the option is to let Muslims overrun the country, and begin the stabbings and rapes that have taken hold across Europe? How long before women are raped because they down have the heads covered (ocurred last week in Germany). How long before someone in the crowd yells 'Allah Akbar" and starts stabbing infedils? Well, at least we're upholding the Constitution, until there are 5 of 9 Mulims on the Court.
Nope, the option is to stay within the bounds of laws that are constitutional or amended the constitution to exclude Islam from first amendment protections.

Maybe Christians child rise up and have more than 2 children then? Eh?
it’s not that simple. You do realize falling birth rates are a world wide problem?
I don’t even know how to respond to that.
Because it’s a complex issue.
Not all Muslims want sharia law, nor are they all fanatical.
their children may be though because that’s what the Quran teaches.

I think they were referring to religion that some immigrants might be.

The first amendment says nothing about immigration
The First Amendment says what the government can't do. Among those things it can't do is discriminate on the basis of religion as you have suggested in your OP.

The ones trump banned, plus some other middle eastern countries.
But the most populous Muslim majority country gets missed in all that, not a very effective ban.

And not trully a Mulim at all. Somewhat like a Christian who doesn't follow Christ.

It’s funny because in order to defend Muslims people will point at those who claim to be Muslim but don’t follow the faith while critiquing Christianity by pointing at those who don’t follow the faith.
