Hi everyone, I would greatly appreciate your prayers. For whatever reason I do not have joy, I have never had it, I had it for about 5 minutes right after I got saved and then it left and has never come back. There must be a very good reason why I do not have it, I have been seeking God for the reason why but no reply so far. I do not have peace either. The bible says that the joy of the Lord is your strength and I lack strength!

I pray you give Dave the joy of the lord so that he has it. Touch him and heal him and also give him joy. Help him to maintain this joy. There is so much in the Bible that causes joy and awesomeness. I pray it will last the rest of his life and that Dave will always be strong to face what’s going on in his life. Make him laugh with your hilarious giving like you do to me. Give the clarity he needs to see what you’ve already done and are doing. Bless him in Jesus Name.

I pray that the Lord will give you more joy, as we are supposed to rejoice in His name. Have you tried Christian music?

I certainly will pray for you I deal with the same thing. I felt joy the morning after I was saved it was gone in 10 minutes. Since then a lot of not feeling worthy. Yes I will pray God Bless and keep you

It seems not uncommon for people to have some joy initially when they accept salvation

It also doesn’t seem uncommon at for them to not stay in that state of joy. so I suspect your experience is not at all unusual.

You might want to look up Bible verses about joy. One of the things it says is that joy is given to the upright in heart.

When we receive salvation, we don’t just get all upright overnight. We are told to work out our salvation. With fear and trembling. It’s a process. Really it never stops.

I would personally focus more on asking the Lord to reveal areas within you that you need to turn over to him to be the person he wants. You may be very surprised at things he shows you. Again, this is a long-term process.

The Messiah said that he came so that his joy could be in us, and our joy could be full. And it will be full in heaven, and hopefully also before that. But I think the thing he most wants us to feel is not joy for now, but a fear of the Lord that leads to repentance in all the ways that we always need repentance.

Praying for you.

Dave, I prayed for you after reading your post and will pray again later today. May I suggest downloading a Bible app on your phone and listening to it from the beginning? Start with just 10 minutes a day, but make it a daily habit. From personal experience, God's Word never fails—it's changed my life and I believe it can change yours too.

“When I discovered your words, I devoured them. They are my joy and my heart’s delight.” Jeremiah 15:16 NLT
