  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Nelson has defintely been in my crosshairs. I think it is time I research Thomas Nelson as there could be a 1611 KJV out there as a THOMAS NELSON study Bible. Thanks.
@St_Worm2
Check it out. I like Charles Stanley. I think this would be an enjoyable one for sure.

I agree. In fact, I'll probably add the Logos version to my library! Thanks :)

Charles Stanley's son went down a bad road? I've been down a bad road. Thanksfully, Jesus turned me around. It was such a bad, bad road too. Seems like there are a lot of bad roads to go down and get lost on these days.

Yes, I know that. Andy has, sadly, gone pretty far south on a number of theological issues, but I don't think that he had anything to do with his dad's Study Bible notes. That said, he remains a HUGE influence on many in Christendom (as the senior pastor of his megachurch, and his TV/radio broadcasts and his books too). It's a shame, because he is a truly talented communicator (which was a great thing in the past when he was still teaching historic/orthodox Biblical truth).

We shall stay dug in the bible my friend.
Of course, that's how we continue to know what is true and what is not, whether we are talking with other believers here, or reading a book by Andy Stanley

Pray and pray diligently for that man . But do not follow him or take heed unto him .
Pray for his repentance and that he turns from the darkness his foot has long been on my friend .
As i desire the death of none .

Hi everyone. I am new to thesee forums. I am taking a look around. Briefly, I am in search of a KJV 1611 Study Bible. Not Scofield, but maybe something from Holman. I would like the study notes to be influenced/inspired by God rather than influenced by Rothschilds or Jesuits.

Additionally, I am also on the lookout for a KJV Study Bible without the Thees and Thous type old English you find in the 1611 KJV. I think that I saw something that came out around 1016, but for the New Testament only. I've been doing some digging around of some other versions translated from the Textus Receptus as well. I am kind of open on this if it is from the Textus Receptus.
Hi, FYI there are plenty of KJV 1611 Bibles on Amazon. However, I would recommend that you use the New American Standard Bible as it is the closest English translation to the original Scriptures according to many scholars outside the Scofield teachings. I use the New Open NASB Study Bible. I learned that most English translations of the Bible, including the KJV 1611 version, were translated from the Masoretic Text from the 9th century. The Masorite priests changed and even removed some verses, so be aware of these in all English Bibles, epecially Genesis 5 & 11. They changed the begetting ages of the patriarchs which changed the Bible timeline by around 1250 years. My primary source on this is the Associates for Biblical Research, a group of Christian archeologists. Also be aware that the Textus Receptus is a work highly influenced by the Catholic church.

Hi. I started doing some research of my own. A couple of sources I was direct to seemed very informative to me. They are both easy to listen to in your vehicle in my opinion. I do a lot of listening to books, podcasts, etc in the truck and was happy that they did well listening there.

This one is about 1 hour and 30 minutes.

This one is about 3 hours.

Good afternoon,

What a interesting conversation: I have a few notes to point out -

1. KJV 1611 had printing errors including duplicated text and some missing words.

2. Charles Stanley is a false teacher and so is Calvinist John MacArthur (he is more into the Critical text and put doubting footnotes on the disputed verses.)

3. Geneva did have some issues:

4. I would suggest reading the 1769 King James Bible and learn about dispensations. Its critical to study.

5. Also, look into Gene Kim, Robert Breaker, Dr. Ruckman, Sam Gipp, Gail Riplinger into the issue of the translation issue.

PS: NKJV is bad as well -

God bless.

You certainly give a lot to read, watch, and think about. Thank you for this. I've read some of what the websites you shared just now. Maybe the videos tell a bit more of the KJV 1769 version. I also need to look into it more of what you shared about the Geneva Bibles, such as if it targets the 1560 excluisively as being issue ridden or if targets the 1599 as well. So far, it seems to favor the 1599 version slightly more.

I would recommend that you be careful about calling people false teachers. They may be incorrect about a few things, such as when the rapture happens, but this does not make them a false teacher. Even Calvin, whom I don't agree with 100% (maybe 70%), said that no theologian is ever more than 80% right. MacAurthor, whom I respect, but only agree with about 80% said that he would identify a false teacher as someone who is teaching incorrectly on the basic tenants of God's Word as Truth such as denying the Trinity, denying the diety of Christ, denying His sinless life and substitutionary death, denying salvation by grace, and denying the Gospel. He states that these things are NOT negotiable. I would have to agree with him on this.

The printing press was very primitive back then as in the way they set the print. They had to use text blocks, align it right, then put it all backwards. Then they would print it, this would be the whole 73 books. There will be certifiably mistakes.

Though this is not the same as the intentional removal of verses into footnotes or other things in the new versions.

The Geneva is also on the Calvinist side.

They are teaching the wrong salvation, calvinisim is wrong, and please look into this.

Also, Wescott and Hortt would def be a false teacher according to those questions to check as they denied all that.

Exodus 14:10 would be one of the duplicated text in the 1611. Oxford 1833 shows a list of some revisions as well.

Bibleprotector.com would be a good site as well.

Also, some changes would be the Gothic to Roman and the spelling from f to s.
