GOP plans aggressive ‘weaponization’ investigations in wake of Trump conviction​

House Speaker Mike Johnson vowed to use House oversight powers and other measures to target jurisdictions pursuing prosecutions of the former president.

Who really doubted that these guys would attempt to retaliate against any officials who would dare to apply the law to Dear Leader?

One of Trump’s staunchest allies is readying a more aggressive approach. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) has threatened to file a resolution before the week’s end to impeach President Biden. Greene left a Tuesday meeting with Johnson demanding “in the loudest most possible way” that he allow the House a vote on removing Biden or she will force such a vote.

I'm thinking scores of House republicans in swing districts are terrified today. And their potential democrat opponents are grinning.

House Republicans issue criminal referrals for lying to Congress of James and Hunter Biden to DOJ​

The referrals cite two false statements they say Hunter Biden told during his February 28 deposition and one false statement they say James Biden made during his February 21 interview with congressional investigators based on documents Republicans voted to release from IRS whistleblowers last month.

Republicans allege the president’s son “falsely distanced himself” from his involvement with a corporate entity that received millions of dollars from foreign individuals, Rosemont Seneca Bohai. They also claim he testified an “entirely fictitious account” about alleged text messages where he used his father as leverage to pressure a Chinese company into paying him.

Hunter Biden also testified he was “drunk and probably high” when he sent the messages, and his father was not sitting next to him.

On James Biden, Republicans say his testimony that Joe Biden, as a private citizen, did not meet with Biden family business associate Tony Bobulinski, has been contradicted by Bobulinski and Hunter Biden.
