Peace in Christ.
The just shall live (have an age-lasting life) by faith. They will not perish mortally from this earth but shall continue to live in this earth and not be removed from it.
By the keeping of His “daily” sacrifice (being crucified with Christ), we live. Christ lives in us and the life that we live now in this mortal flesh we live by the faith of the Son of God who loved us and gave Himself for us.
Gal 2:20 KJV
(20) I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
By the keeping of His “daily” sacrifice (ALWAYS bearing about in our mortal body the dying of the Lord Jesus), the life also of Jesus shall be made manifest in our body…our mortal flesh. This manifest life is “eternal life”….an age-lasting life.
2Co 4:10-11 KJV
(10) Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.
(11) For we which live are alway delivered unto death for Jesus' sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh.
Again, everyone who is living and believing into Him WILL NOT DIE…but will continue to live throughout this age until His coming. They are those who will remain…ALIVE AND REMAIN…unto the coming of the Lord. 1 Thessalonians 4:15 .
John 11:26
and everyone who is living and believing in Me will not die—throughout the age;
Everyone that sees the Son (understands His testimony of the truth of the gospel) and believes on Him may have an age-lasting life (never dying in their mortal bodies unto His coming).
Christ will keep them mortally standing here in this earth TO the last day of this age. “I will raise him up” = keep him standing now.
Note: neither “at” or “to” shows up in the Greek in John 6:40. “at” seems to be inserted here
John 6:40
(40) And this is the will of Him that sent Me, that everyone which sees the Son, and believes on him, may have everlasting life (age-lasting life): and I will raise him up “at (TO)” the last day.
John 6:40
Antoniades Patriarchal Edition (1904/12)

But what about those Christians that mortally died not understanding the Son but believed in Him?
The Lord shall not lose them….. “I should lose nothing”…. but He shall raise it up “again” AT the last day. There is no “again” in verse 40 compared to verse 39.
John 6:39 KJV
(39) And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.
For Christ is both the Lord of the “dead”…Lord of those who had mortally perished but believed in Him…and the “living”….those who will never die for they hear and believe His testimony (“seeing the Son”) and will keep standing here on this earth.
Romans 14:8-9 KJV
(8) For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's.
(9) For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living.
