...pfffffft.
If a US governor is "tyrannical", how would you describe Kim Jong Un?
It’s frightening.
Woman breaks laws, woman gets punished for doing so, woman cries foul about it?
This says it all:Minnesota grandma jailed for defying Walz COVID lockdown orders warns 'you do not want tyranny at this level'

Crazy stuff coming from MN.
Don’t break the law of the land? You might not know this but Romans 13:1–7 in the Bible describes the responsibility of Christians to submit to government authorities. It’s funny how some folks love tyranny.
Nobody really wants to work for peanuts if they can avoid it. Why should they? How were their economies affected longer other than the fact that here in GA people did not want to WORK? That was one thing that took forever is people who worked in the service businesses did not want to work because it was easier to collect a check. Take the checks away and people will work even for peanuts awfuly quick
Don’t break the law of the land? You might not know this but Romans 13:1–7 in the Bible describes the responsibility of Christians to submit to government authorities.
That was still a submission to the governing authorities. They as a matter of conscious broke the law, and they accepted the consequences of doing so.Except in Rome...when asked to offer a little incense to the emperor.
That was still a submission to the governing authorities.
If you cheerfully accept the punishment yes. All the law is is a statement that if some prohibited behavior happens, or something mandated doesn't happen, then a certain punishment is applied. By accepting the punishment, you are acknowledging the authority of the government to issue it in the first place.Breaking the law is now the same as submitting to the law?
Even governments like North Korea?Don’t break the law of the land? You might not know this but Romans 13:1–7 in the Bible describes the responsibility of Christians to submit to government authorities.
So God wanted the Christians to offer incense to the emperor because it was a lawful order, and they had it all wrong? If you cheerfully accept the punishment yes. All the law is is a statement that if some prohibited behavior happens, or something mandated doesn't happen, then a certain punishment is applied. By accepting the punishment, you are acknowledging the authority of the government to issue it in the first place.
I'd suggest that the government in question would be a democratically elected one. As opposed to a dictatorship.Even governments like North Korea?
The Roman Empire was a democratically elected government? Or do you not know what it means to offer incense to the emperor?I'd suggest that the government in question would be a democratically elected one. As opposed to a dictatorship.
Or God wanted them to defy the order, knowing what the cost was.So God wanted the Christians to offer incense to the emperor because it was a lawful order, and they had it all wrong?
How does that say it all? This thread isn’t even about Trump. This says it all:
'...she is not convinced she will support the Republican nominee in the 2024 election, citing what she has learned about Operation Warp Speed and Trump taking credit for the development of the COVID-19 vaccine.'
She literally will not be voting for Trump because she thinks he was instrumental in helping to develop a Covid vaccine. Crazy stuff indeed. Please keep it coming.
Oh, and this made me laugh:
'...because I had my doors open and willing customers came in to patronize me."
Wow. You would have been one to support slavery based on this understanding.Don’t break the law of the land? You might not know this but Romans 13:1–7 in the Bible describes the responsibility of Christians to submit to government authorities.
It doesn’t say that.I'd suggest that the government in question would be a democratically elected one. As opposed to a dictatorship.
