I’m not deflecting anything, just thinking about how many times Paul Manafort, Steve Bannon, and others in Trump’s circle have been arrested and convicted; how many of his lawyers have been disbarred; how many of his cabinet secretaries and other senior aids resigned under some sort of scandal, etc.

I would like to know what the knife and rose is in reference to. My guess is there’s a literature reference, but I couldn’t find anything more than speculation online.
