I use AI to make devotionals, as a tool, not to write the whole thing, but to analyze Bible verses and connect them to the modern world, then I write my own life anecdote on my own (without the help of AI).


87% of the devotional below is made by a free, local artificial intelligence on my computer (Mistral 7B on the GPT4All frontend):

Thanks for the heads-up. I've downloaded and will give my input after a few weeks of trial, if that's ok. I've been relying on the direction of the Holy Spirit mainly, but have been thinking that I need ideas just for opening conversations - sometimes I'm just stumped! Once we get cranking I've found the Holy Spirit does a great job of guiding the convo fairly naturally from there. You, too?

@tinochiwara , this is the AI that I use. It is addicting to use, and is run completely offline on my computer for free, though my computer is a bit old (2018), so it takes around 15-20 minutes to formulate a long response. If I had a faster computer, the response times could be in a matter of a few seconds to only a few minutes.

We have many tools available to us ... however .... anything used (information returned) must be compared with written scripture for it's validity. We shouldn't be lazy about it.

Agreed. That is what I try to do, with my devotionals, by comparing the response to the original scripture. In fact, I plug in the scripture into the prompt to get a good response.

That's good ... always provide the corresponding bible verses that support what you are putting forth regardless where it comes from. It's ok to include some explanation narrative but the verses themselves must be included/referenced.

Correct, all of the devotionals made with the assistance of AI that are on here have verses referenced, and included in full. Also, the last paragraph or two are typically written by myself, without AI, as the last paragraph(s) cover my life experiences, and how that experience ties in with the verses. So, around 20% of the devotional is written by myself, sometimes more, sometimes less.
