  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Border czar Kamala Harris visits Houston weeks after Jocelyn Nungaray allegedly murdered by illegal immigrants

Harris' visit notably did not include a visit to Nungaray's grieving parents who, since her death, have pleaded for a "safer country" and called for heightened border security to prevent other families from suffering the same fate.
"We have to stop burying our kids," Jocelyn's mother, Alexis Nungaray, said tearfully on "Hannity." "This isn’t right. We have to have more reinforcement when it comes to letting people in. This is not OK."

Who is surprised?

I am NOT at all surprised that Kamala Harris visited Houston to attend dinner at a teachers' convention a month after 12-year-old Jocelyn Nungaray was raped and murdered while at the same time failing to visit the Nungarary family, or at least give them the decency of the bare minimum response which would have been a phone call to them.

Am I the only person who suspects that if she had gone to see the family we would be hearing about how inappropriate that was?
I would have said that Harris would have been doing the right thing.

Thank you. Why would it have been the right thing?
She could have talked with the grieving family and then spoke about what she could do if she were elected to stem the massive flow of illegal immigration.

We already accepted dead kids isn’t enough to change how we do things in America after Sandy Hook.
Deliberately violating U.S. border laws and allowing criminals into our country to prey on the innocent is not acceptable to many Americans.

Yeah I used to think this way about gun violence and mass shooters. Your cynicism will grow eventually when you see nothing changes.

What policy is going to stop someone from committing mass homicide? What kind of gun did Timothy McVeigh use to kill 168 people? What kind of gun did Gary Rigeway use to kill 71? Or Ted Bundy? Or Jeffrey Dahmer? How about the 33 kids John Wayne Gacy killed? What guns did he use?

And the big question is, if guns were banned in the US, what's going to stop unchecked illegal aliens from smuggling guns across border?
