Excellent news!(Bloomberg) -- Within hours of Joe Biden’s decision to bow out of the presidential race, many of the biggest names in Democratic politics — from Hillary Clinton to Gavin Newsom to megadonor George Soros — rushed to join him in backing Vice President Kamala Harris at the top of the ticket.
Get outta town.Harris did not "win" Soros' backing. Soros bought Harris; he owns her now.
The POTUS in 1962 was Democrat JFK.Nothing about prayers then. OK.
So, it wasn't Democrats, then.
So? The federal government wasn't a party to that case. The POTUS in 1962 was Democrat JFK.
So it was 6-1 and of the 6 in the majority, they were evenly split between Republican and Democratic appointees. Seems odd to blame it on the Democrats. The SCOTUS in 1962 was made up of a majority five democrats: three FDR picks, one HST pick, and one JFK pick. The four in the minority were from GOP Eisenhower picks. Three dem justices and three GOP justices agreed to find school prayer unconstitutional. Only one dissent, a GOP appointee. Two justices (both dems) took no part in the decision.
Is there some sort of sign that one can look for in these thralls to the Bad Guy from your Holy Book?
Or does merely identifying with the Democratic Party provide proof enough?
Do you take that position on every case the SCOTUS decides? We The People and the Constitution won.
For near-unanimous bipartisan rulings, yes. The text of the Constitution is that clear.Do you take that position on every case the SCOTUS decides?
Define "near unanimous". Would you agree with unanimous decisions regardless of which party's potus nominated the sitting judges? For ex: 9 dem or 9 GOP.For near-unanimous bipartisan rulings, yes. The text of the Constitution is that clear.
Trump a scoundrel?Excellent news!
Nobody who backs the candidate against that scoundrel Trump can be all bad (in my view).
What should happen is that the candidates run openly and see who wins and gets the nomination at the Convention. No one crowned Harris, nor did the citizens choose her.Bloomberg

The actual vote is happening before the convention because of Ohio, but that's what's happening. There will be an open vote of delegates, though at this point enough have pledged to vote for her that it's pretty clear which way the vote will go.What should happen is that the candidates run openly and see who wins and gets the nomination at the Convention. Well the problem with that is that Ohio requires the parties to submit their official candidates 90 days before the election, which is before the convention. This roll call vote was going to happen even before Biden dropped out for that reason. The actual vote should happen at the Convention and all candidates should have had a chance for the voters to weigh in.
I Agree 100%What should happen is that the candidates run openly and see who wins and gets the nomination at the Convention. No one crowned Harris, nor did the citizens choose her.
I wouldn’t hear anything about Obama except that I am reminded of his existence by people who have him living in their head for some reason.I Agree 100%
In 2020 she was the first one to drop out of the presidential bid with less than 1% of the vote, leaving like 10 candidates in the race
They are pushing Kamala so Barrack Obama can have his dream at a 4th term as president
Hard luck. Obama has endorsed Harris. They are pushing Kamala so Barrack Obama can have his dream at a 4th term as president
