  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Early adoption in "crypto" was at least a decade ago.

Some skepticism is good but too much isn't ideal. Everyone won't play along. They won't wrestle with you or prove this and that. You say not interested and they're done. There won't be a retort.

When I addressed it with my family they had reservations because they didn't understand what it was but I gave them the facts and they pulled out their checkbooks.

That actually was briefly a thing, I want to say, pre-covid. I don’t know how it worked, but a lot of store’s started accepting it. Didn’t last long, though.

Probably because of the time it takes to process a single bitcoin transaction.

Can you imagine waiting in line while the people in front of you take 10 minutes to pay, each?

I'm not a fan of trump's, but to wish the gunman had been successful is unbelievable!
Jesus would say to those individuals "you are not of the right spirit..."
Love or hate him, trump did amazing for Israel and saved a lot of unborn babies.

I won’t stop saying it just because you don’t like hearing it.

Oh, I'm certain you won't. You'll keep loudly and nonsensically proclaiming that the republic almost ended when everyone knows that's absolutely not true. I have no idea why, but I do know you're 100% committed to it.

I have no idea why
Because that’s what happened after he lost. He tried everything in his power to stay in office past the end of his term ignoring the will of the people. You’re welcome to deny reality along with him but I won’t join you in that and I won’t stop pressing on the one single issue I feel completely disqualified him from ever holding office again.

And yet you response and how you hooked in your family belies the nature of crypto as speculative financial instruments, not a currency. At least tulip bulbs will bloom in the spring.

Actually, that's what the Democrats are doing RIGHT NOW. They've put forth a candidate to the primary voters who they've determined cannot win, so now they're disenfranchising all of those voters in an attempt to make sure they hold on to the presidency.

You’re welcome to deny reality along with him but I won’t join you in that and I won’t stop pressing on the one single issue I feel completely disqualified him from ever holding office again.

You're also welcome to your delusion. The riot that happened on January 6 at the Capitol was a debacle and an embarrassment. But in no way was our republic ever threatened.

They weren't hooked into anything. I advised them to put measures in place and they followed suit. I never try to sway anyone on financial matters. I'll share information and leave it up to the person to decide. But I don't tell you what to buy and you'll never hear me recommending a specific coin. That's for the listener to decide. I share recommendations with my loved ones but otherwise I don't.

Your concern for us democrats is endearing but comes across as disingenuous. You’re voting the guy who literally wanted to toss out the 2020 election after he lost. Nice try though.

Oh, you think the riot on January 6 was the only thing that happened? That was only the culmination of a months long disinformation campaign the president engaged in against the American people to literally cancel out the election and remain in power against the will of the people. Thank goodness for his incompetence.

I'm not concerned for you. I'm pointing out the blatant hypocrisy of Democrats wringing their hands about the need to "save democracy" while actively circumventing the democratic process.

Kind of like the disinformation campaign that Biden was "sharp as a tack" for years to pull a bait-and-switch on primary voters who chose him as their candidate for the presidency.

No, what Trump did was much worse. The will of the people is the foundation of our entire republic. That is meaningless to Trump if he doesn’t win. The election was over and he lost and was trying to change the results to stay in power. That was after leading on the entire country with lies about mass voter fraud and election rigging that he still has not proven. This all led up to an actual riot that nearly halted the democratic process of this country. There’s simply no comparison to what Trump did, from any president in American history. He is undemocratic. He is wholly unfit for office and on top of everything, he’s an actual felon.

I’ll be voting for prosecutor instead.

The cognitive dissonance in the Democratic Party is on full display today. All of the pretense is gone. The Democrats in a desperate attempt to cling to power are willing to circumvent all of our norms to ensure they win. And you're willing to turn a blind eye to it.

You mean like go on a months long fraudulent campaign to convince people the election was rigged that led to an actual riot and at the same time schemed a plan to have fake electors change the actual already cast and counted votes of millions of people to hold onto power?
And you're willing to turn a blind eye to it.
Yep pretty much. The right should have offered something other than a cult of personality around a criminal and we wouldn’t be here today.

On this point I agree completely. This election cycle could have been a complete landslide if Republicans hadn't kept their wagon hitched to Trump.

Yeah, Biden should stick to current norms instead of responsibly dealing with his real world medical issues. He should have created a false set of electors ahead of time, and then called each swing state to make sure they "find" votes ahead of time.

That's how democracy works in the age of Trump, right?

-- A2SG, Donny's the only one who gets to circumvent all of our norms these days, I guess....
