Who do you think this passage is about and why do you think it?

It is not clear who Isaiah thought he was writing about in the Servant Songs. Perhaps Israel, perhaps an individual person, perhaps Israel personified as an individual, perhaps (under divine revelation) a foreseeing of the person and ministry of Jesus, perhaps some combination of these. From what I've read, scholars differ on the question.

From what we read in the gospels and Acts, Jesus saw himself as fulfilling the role of Isaiah's Suffering Servant, and the early church saw him in this role as well.

It seems very obvious that Isaiah is speaking of the Messiah. 1st, Jesus quoted this passage, obviously referencing himself. 2nd, in the context of the cosmic problem of sin, God's provision for sin, coming from Himself, would have to take place through Christ, the Son of God.
