Hey Alex, here’s a problem for that chart. As soon as year 20XX is recognized people will know it’s exactly 3.5 or 7 years before He comes. So we may not currently know the day or hour but people in the future (after the tribulation starts) will be able to know the day or hour.Hello folks. What are your thoughts on this timeline? It is supposed to satisfy both Preterists and Futurists, as the End Times may have began with the fall of the 2nd Temple in 70 AD, but we may be approaching the tribulation. In other words, we have been in the end times for nearly 2000 years, but the closer we get to the tribulation period, the more we know that the tribulation is near. The year 20XX represents some future year, which could happen today, or hundreds of years from now. Also, the blooming fig tree could represent Israel becoming a new nation in 1948, or getting new borders according to the UN in 1967, and a generation will not die after the fig tree blooms. So, if people born in 1967 live 80 years (or a max of 120 years), could we be close to the end times? Jesus says we will not know the hour. Do you guys think that the end is close, say sometime in this century?

I think so. Check out Deuteronomy 30:6-8, Ezekiel 36:8-9, Matthew 24:23-25, and Revelation 6.Thanks. You have a good timeline as well. The AC would be part of the second half of the tribulation in my timeline. I wonder if the war going on in 2023-2024 could be a sign of the times.
Yeah, or maybe 1967, as that is when Israel secured the border, so 2047 at the latest. Also, we found the Dead Sea scrolls, discovered between 1947 and 1956, unearthing the documents from a series of caves. But Jesus says we will never know the hour.I think so. Check out Deuteronomy 30:6-8, Ezekiel 36:8-9, Matthew 24:23-25, and Revelation 6.
The sealed scroll is the deed to the promised land and people. The restoration of Israel IS the sign of Christ’s coming return.
One thing I would propose is that the time line started in 1948. Remember that the four horsemen ride. It never says they stopped riding or reached a destination. So these things take place over the course of that generation.
Psalm 90:10 suggests a generation is 70-80 years, placing the end date at 2028 at the latest. But we could all be misinterpreting as has been common for hundreds of years.
The apostles of the new testament talked like Jesus would return within their lifetime. I see no reason to think anything different than that.Hello folks. What are your thoughts on this timeline? Yep, we must treat every day like Jesus would return. The apostles of the new testament talked like Jesus would return within their lifetime. I see no reason to think anything different than that.
Right, and if we were to come to the conclusion that Jesus didn’t return within their generation then it makes a person wonder what other things the apostles promoted that weren’t correct. The apostles of the new testament talked like Jesus would return within their lifetime. But Jesus said it correctly. Truly I tell you, the present generation will see it all. Matthew 23:34Right, and if we were to come to the conclusion that Jesus didn’t return within their generation then it makes a person wonder what other things the apostles promoted that weren’t correct.
Matthew 24:33 [NASB] so you too, when you see all these things, recognize that He is near, right at the doorBut Jesus said it correctly. Truly I tell you, the present generation will see it all. Matthew 23:34
All what? Matthew 24:32-33 The 'fig tree budding and growing leaves- Jewish Israel re-establishing a nation in the holy land. Note well that they do not produce any fruit. [of the Spirit]
Obviously WE are the generation living in perilous times. We will see it all and it is sheer avoidance and blue funk to think otherwise.
What about a verse such as Colossians1:23, where Paul said the gospel was already preached to every creature under heaven at the time he wrote Colossians? Do you think we are still waiting for the fulfillment of the gospel to be preached in all the world?Guys, I just made a devotional today about technology prophecies.
Verses:
Daniel 12:4 (NKJV): "But you, Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book until the time of the end; many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase."
Matthew 24:14 (NKJV): "And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come."
Explanation:
Tech in the Bible
- Daniel 12:4: This verse speaks about Daniel sealing a book until the end times. The context suggests that knowledge will increase significantly before these prophetic events unfold, with people traveling extensively (running to and fro). In today's world, this can be interpreted as globalization, rapid communication through technology such as the internet, social media, radio, television, and high-speed travel via airplanes and automobiles.
- Matthew 24:14: Jesus prophesied that His gospel would be preached to all nations before the end comes. The rapid spread of Christianity across the globe through various forms of communication and transportation can be seen as a fulfillment of this prophecy in modern times. For example, televised sermons, online churches, missions trips, and social media outreach are ways that Christians are sharing their faith with people worldwide.
Prophecy of Technology in the Bible (Daniel, Matthew, Revelation)
Hello folks. Today's devotional is about how we can use technology for good, as well as how modern technology was predicted over 2000 years ago by the Bible. How is that possible back then? Colonialists did not preach the Gospel to South America until the 1500s (with a lot of violence committed by the Spaniards sadly)What about a verse such as Colossians1:23, where Paul said the gospel was already preached to every creature under heaven at the time he wrote Colossians? Colossians 1:23 If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister;
Well the word “world” used by Jesus in Matthew 24:14 is <3625> oikoumene. It is the same word used in Acts 24:5 for exampleHow is that possible back then? Colonialists did not preach the Gospel to South America until the 1500s (with a lot of violence committed by the Spaniards sadly)
Interesting. I take Matthew 24:14 to mean the whole world, while Colossians 1:23 might refer to a smaller portion, such as Europe, the Middle East and Western Asia.Well the word “world” used by Jesus in Matthew 24:14 is <3625> oikoumene. It is the same word used in Acts 24:5 for example
Acts 24:5 For we have found this man a pestilent fellow, and a mover of sedition among all the Jews throughout the world, and a ringleader of the sect of the Nazarenes:
The word “world” in quite a few places represents the immediate world or Roman Empire in general. We know the the Silk Road was a well established trade route long before the Acts 24:5 statement was made about the “world”. In this case the then known world included China yet obviously they weren’t including China in that statement, so we come to the conclusion that the word “world” doesn’t mean the entire planet.
Yes, there a very many people that do understand Matthew 24:14 to be the entire planet. But just keep in mind that those who do see things as already being fulfilled are relying on verses such as Colossians 1:23 and Romans 10:18 to corroborate their beliefs.Interesting. I believe in the age of accountability, and each person has a different age of accountability, depending on mental faculties. We just need to reach some islands nowadays. There is no way of determining when the Gospel was preached around the world. Only Jesus knows.Yes, there a very many people that do understand Matthew 24:14 to be the entire planet. But just keep in mind that those who do see things as already being fulfilled are relying on verses such as Colossians 1:23 and Romans 10:18 to corroborate their beliefs.
A question for you though, how can we determine if the gospel does get preached in all the world if we don’t rely on what Paul said?
It’s estimated that about 385,000 babies are born each day worldwide. I don’t know if you believe in the age of accountability or not but to literally fulfill every single person having heard the gospel on the entire planet at a specific point in time, isn’t something that our current technology can accomplish. You’d have to have some kind of technology that actually connects to peoples brains as soon as they are born or really even prior to birth if you don’t believe in the age of accountability.
So is it your position then that only a nation as a whole needs the gospel preached to it and not necessarily every individual in that nation? We just need to reach some islands nowadays.
Both, but we first must do it at an individual level. So is it your position then that only a nation as a whole needs the gospel preached to it and not necessarily every individual in that nation?
Ok, I don’t know if you’ve heard of the Sentinelese indigenous people but they are protected by India as a tribal reserve and no one is allowed to travel within three nautical miles of their islands. Both, but we first must do it at an individual level.
