I would argue that every sin is wilful.
First it is willfully sinning. As in a continuous state, a lifestyle.
Sinning grammatically speaking is a participle in the Present tense in Heb 10:26. It is in the genitive case. The case of nouns from which something proceeds. Plus it is plural. So maybe the best translation would be "if we are willfully of sinning". Considering the participle brings out it is a state of being, not just an act.

Secondly I am guessing you never got caught up in the moment. maybe lost your temper, or did something without thinking. Good for you.

However Paul also shared in Rom 7:17. If I do what I would not it is no longer I that do it but sin that dwelleth in me. That is, the evil that he wouldn't that he does.
Which concurs with what Jesus said in John 8, He that commits sin is a slave to it.

As He proceeds he call this state a Law in verse 21. Then He calls it the Law of sin in verse 23.

He goes on to cry out in despair, who shall deliver me out of this body of death.

Luckly, he does not stop there. He continues and says, there is therefore no condemnation to us whom are in Christ Jesus (chapter 6) who walk after the Spirit and not after the flesh. For the Spirit of the Life in Christ Jesus has set us free from the Law of sin and death. That the righteousness of the Law be fulfilled in us who walk after the Spirit and not after the flesh. For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.


Which shows us if we continue in this state of sin we will die in our sins.

I didn't say anything about repenting from sins.
Can you elaborate if this is something we should do?

You mentioned "a person's slate is wiped clean at the front-end" So what happens if they slip and fall?


I do not believe overcoming sin is impossible. I believe that when we are joined to the Lord, we are one spirit with Him (1 Cor 6:17). I believe that the new man He created when He came to live in our hearts is "created according to God in true righteousness and holiness" (Eph 4:24). I believe the flesh is dead because of its sin, but the spirit is alive because of its righteousness (Ro 8:10). And I believe that one day we will be free from the corruption of the flesh and will have spiritual bodies that are free from sin (Ro 8:23). Only the self-deceived do not recognize that they are sinners (1 John 1:8).

When you say, "we can sin whenever we like" and "live however we want", it is as if you are aware only of the flesh because those are exactly the kinds of things the flesh thinks. It is not characteristic of what the spirit thinks because being joined to the Lord creates a love for the things of God and a distaste for sin. That is why we long in our spirits to be free from the corruption of the flesh. Nobody who is in the Spirit wants to return to being in the flesh (Ro 8:9).

Which Paul relates those who are hostile to God's law are not walking in the spirit, but walking in flesh (sin)

God's law is not the issue - it perfect Psa 19:7 righteous Psa 119:172 Rom 7:12 and not burdensome 1 John 5:3 this issue is our desire for sin (breaking God's law 1 John 3:4 Rom 7:7 James 2:10-12) over our love for Jesus John 14:15 Exo 20:6 1 John 5:3 if we abide in His love, we will keep His commandment John 15:10 because we guard what He placed in our hearts, His law Heb 8:10 and His Spirit enables us to keep, If we slip, we have an Advocate with Jesus when we confess, but a Christian should not be living in perpetual sin, all the law does is show us our sin Rom 3:20 Rom 7:7 and shows our need for a Savior and so we are not depending on our righteous way of living, but on God's Psa 119:172 which is everlasting Psa 119:142. Its not the law that breaks the wheels, but our sinful nature and desire to sin, or live in the flesh.

I'm just going to have to Anchor to where this conversation is going to go. Matthew 23 speaks of one particular "lifestyle" that is a bad idea.

It is speaking of of sinning "Grammatically Present tense" in the way of Trampling Jesus Christ's blood, by declaring it ineffectual and nothing more than something to be Trampled by men. Hebrews 10:29

Matthew 5:13 “You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.
This is called the SALT and the LIGHT. The Salt flavors things. It makes it desirable. Salt was a MAJOR deal. Christ's GRACE and LOVE to Sinners is the FLAVOR (Savor/Saltiness).
Hebrews 10:29 Just think how much worse the punishment will be for those who have trampled on the Son of God, and have treated the blood of the covenant, which made us holy, as if it were common and unholy, and have insulted and disdained the Holy Spirit who brings God's mercy to us.
This binds GOD's MERCY to Sanctification (Making HOLY). Scripture teaches that is is God's MERCY (Grace - Unmerited Favor) that Makes us HOLY. Holy = FULLY Sanctified in the eyes of God.
To claim that God's Blood, which SAVES Sinners (Active tense, while we were yet sinners, you who are evil, only God is good), is a thing that can be overpowered by the VERY Law of MOSES which Jesus Christ FULFILLED is to Eradicate the POWER OF THE BLOOD. This renders the Blood of Jesus as something PROFANE. It is saying that God's WILLFUL JUSTIFICATION of the Unholy (UnGodly) is Wicked.
Romans 4:5 But to the one who does not work, but believes on Him who declares the ungodly to be righteous, his faith is credited for righteousness.
This context in Hebrews 10:26,27,28,29 draws contrast between the Gospel Revelation and Proverbs 17:15
Proverbs 17:15 15 He who justifies the wicked and he who condemns the righteous are both alike an abomination to the Lord.
Moses said; "Blot my name out of your book". Yet, Korah was dragged from OPEN EARTH to the bowels of Sheol. Paul Said: "I wish I could be CURSED and Cut off". Yet this same Paul also said; "Galatians 5:12 I wish the people who are bothering you would ·castrate themselves [make themselves eunuchs; L cut it off]!"...​

God justified the Wicked and thus the Son was counted an ABOMINATION, though He KNEW NO SIN. Perfect, Loving, Kind, Merciful Jesus, who NEVER SINNED, was counted ALL SIN, for the sake of SINNERS. The Son, who has NEVER NOT Existed, and has always been PERFECTLY without SIN, BECAME our CURSE that we could be BLESSED.​
It is Blasphemy, Profanity to fail to Spiritually discern the immensity of the meaning of this. This is what the THESIS verse of this OP is saying in Context. It is saying that to rebuke Jesus Christ's Righteousness for an Embrace with the Old Covenant Law is Spiritual Adultery, Idolatry, Apostasy!

The Fulfillment of the Law​

Outwardly, NOONE can out keep the Law when compared to Pharisees. Jesus called them Whited Sepulchers. He was acknowledging that they had, indeed, learned to KEEP THE ENTIRE LAW in their FLESH. To teach that they weren't Carnally Obedient to the Law is to deny the very words of Jesus Christ. Paul, also speaks of PERFECT Adherence to the LAW in his Flesh. He counts it Trash, in the same breath.
Jesus' Righteousness in the place of our Day to Day failures is the only way to SURPASS the righteousness of the Pharisees and Teachers of the Law! When one turns back from Jesus, to Moses, to judge a brother or themselves by Moses, they have Fallen from Grace.
Galatians 5:4 You who are trying to be justified by law have been alienated from Christ; you have fallen away from grace.

So, we can now discuss personal lives of Believers in reference to this discussion? This will make this entire discussion go more swimmingly.

This is the Same Paul that has God say this to Him; 2 Corinthians 12:9 ... “My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.”

Also the same Paul; I do not set aside the grace of God; for if righteousness comes through the law, then Christ died in vain

When a Christian turns from Jesus to Moses, they are indeed SLAVE to Sin.

It isn't hard to spiritually discern when Marriage's use in scripture is understood. (Romans 7 summarized)

But if her husband dies, she is released from that law and is not an adulteress if she marries another man.

This entire Romans 7 Discussion is about being released from Moses and Bound to Jesus.

Paul knows that the Law of Sin and death condemns HIM. He used to LIVE by it. He speaks of this and HIS BLAMELESS obedience to the Law.

He is contrasting the Spirit of Life against His old walk with Moses. It is His highest struggle. It also shows that Paul struggled with SIN. Is Paul condemned by Hebrews 10?

Yet, here, it seems there is CONDEMNATION coming from what I believe to be misunderstanding of NT condemnation scripture.

To live after the flesh IS to be married to Jesus and have a secret rendezvous with MOSES.

Moses (Old Wine) <------Old SKIN-----------------Believer---------------NEW SKIN-------------------->Jesus (New Wine)

The choice is simple. One must discern through scripture. There is no "In-between" on this topic.

Which shows us if we continue in this state of sin we will die in our sins.
This is why I cast the Slave woman and her son FAR FAR away from me.

I cling to Jesus and Jesus alone for this exact reason.

An interesting study is to Cross Reference Galatians 2:21

Gal 2:21 I do not nullify the grace of God, for if righteousness were through the law, then Christ died for no purpose.

Romans 1:16 But if it is by grace, it is no longer on the basis of works; otherwise grace would no longer be grace.

Gal 3:21 Is the law then contrary to the promises of God? Certainly not! For if a law had been given that could give life, then righteousness would indeed be by the law.
The entirety of the Law and Prophets HUNG by this very "LAW" that GIVES LIFE. (Royalty)​

Romans 10:3 For, being ignorant of the righteousness of God, and seeking to establish their own, they did not submit to God's righteousness.

Gal 2:18 For if I rebuild what I tore down, I prove myself to be a transgressor.

There are lots of laws Neh 9:13 in scripture, law is a generic terms, the context is what tells us the law being referred to if one allows. If one doesn't understand the law that is perfect Psa 19:7 and eternal Mat 5:19 compared to the law that is contrary and against, will never understand Paul's writings.

The main law being referred to in Galatians is the law of circumcision

Which Jews were compelling Gentile Christians converts to be circumcised and Paul was rebuking.

Gal 2: 3 Yet not even Titus who was with me, being a Greek, was compelled to be circumcised.

There is no law of circumcision in the Ten Commandments.

Paul contrasts these laws and came to this conclusion

1 Cor 7:19 Circumcision is nothing and uncircumcision is nothing, but keeping the commandments of God is what matters.

Same as what Jesus taught. Mat 5:18-30 Mat 15:3-14 Mark 7:7-13 Mat 19:17-19 John 14:15 Exo 20:6

Thats the problem with plucking out verses outside their context and not trying to harmonize the scriptures, especially if it goes against what Jesus taught, we might not be keeping something God wants us to.

Only God is Good. There is a gospel (Mystery)

When one seeks or tells others to seek the commandments (Be teachers of the Law), they can fast slide into the trap of "Lawlessness". There is no longer a sacrifice left for anything written in the OLD COVENANT. This means, one single infraction of over 600 Laws, including the Tablets of the Covenant themselves, brings the entire weight of Mount Sinai down upon them.

When one seeks to or tells others to seek Jesus and is willing to be shaped by Jesus from within through Love that Constrains (Royal Command), The entire Righteous Life of Jesus Christ cloths this person. They are clothed in PERFECTION, though they are DEAD WORKS walking. They are DEAD, yet the Spirit of ALL Life dwells within them. Their sins are cast as far as East from West. The Lord sees not their sins.

I have chosen the Desire of my Heart. I will not slide back to the days of Moses. JESUS alone is my hearts desire.

I would never want to be in the position to argue against what Jesus taught.

The two convents Paul is contrasting is based on our efforts Exo 19:8 over God's doing Heb 8:10, the better promise Heb 8:6 not the law itself, because our perfect God could never personally write an imperfect law Psa 19:7 but now instead of depending on our strength to obey God's law, He gives us the power to do so because He is the One writing it in our hearts and minds and keeping it close. Its when we rebel against the very teaching of Jesus who taught when we choose to keep our rules over obeying God's- ones heart is far from Him. Matt 15:3-14 and we end up in a ditch. Jesus wants us close to Him, which is why He placed His law right where sin begins, in the heart and gives us the power to obey through our love and faith in Him. John 14:15-18 Rom 3:31 Rev 14:12 1 John 5:3 which reconciles Rev 22:14

Brother, What was given on Sinai? Can you answer this directly, per scripture? What you have written is not what Galatians says. Galatians 1,2 and 3 DECLARE THE NOMOS. If you one line this, you are removing Jesus Christ's words through Paul.

Every Christian is condemned by all 613 Laws in Moses, but the Tablets of the Covenant (Hebrews 8:13, Hebrews 9:1,4,14) (Deuteronomy 4:2 - Deuteronomy 31:26) especially have all Christians, daily in the cross hairs of SIN. All of us are condemned.

If this were not true, Jesus wouldn't have had to die. Paul says these very words.

No matter how large the scripture wall that comes, I will be looking for specific verbiage that shifts context of scripture from the NEW COVENANT (Jesus is the Tabernacle, Jesus is the LAW, Jesus is SALVATION, Jesus is Fulfilment of every aspect of the OLD COVENANT, Jesus is the High Priest, Jesus is our REST from works of the flesh, Jesus is the full FULFILLMENT of MOSES), to the First Covenant, which was born on Sinai.

Matthew 23 is identical to this, without the earth opening up.

The High handed sin is Hypocrisy, which denies that only God is Good.

Where does it say Moses in any of these scriptures. Why do so many people give Moses credit, instead of giving God the Glory on His work.

Deut 4:13 So He (God) declared to you His (God) covenant which He (God) commanded you to perform, the Ten Commandments; and He(God) wrote them on two tablets of stone.

Exo 34: 28 So he was there with the Lord forty days and forty nights; he neither ate bread nor drank water. And He (God) wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant, the Ten Commandments.

Exo 32:16 Now the tablets were the work of God, and the writing was the writing of God engraved on the tablets.

Exo 20:6 but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.

When did Moses turn into God?

It's something I don't like to speak of. This is a topic that is mostly misunderstood. This is something that I can exegete effectively in a way that is not pleasant to look at.

Just as Jesus said to those that bound people to the Stone Law, He was right there in front of them (YHWH is Salvation; YeHoshua) and they didn't BELIEVE. He could not forgive sinners that thought they could be sinless because a doctor can't help a patient that "thinks they are well".

First it is willfully sinning. As in a continuous state, a lifestyle.
Sinning grammatically speaking is a participle in the Present tense in Heb 10:26. It is in the genitive case. The case of nouns from which something proceeds. Plus it is plural. So maybe the best translation would be "if we are willfully of sinning". Considering the participle brings out it is a state of being, not just an act.

Secondly I am guessing you never got caught up in the moment. maybe lost your temper, or did something without thinking. Good for you.

However Paul also shared in Rom 7:17. If I do what I would not it is no longer I that do it but sin that dwelleth in me. That is, the evil that he wouldn't that he does.
Which concurs with what Jesus said in John 8, He that commits sin is a slave to it.

As He proceeds he call this state a Law in verse 21. Then He calls it the Law of sin in verse 23.

He goes on to cry out in despair, who shall deliver me out of this body of death.

Luckly, he does not stop there. He continues and says, there is therefore no condemnation to us whom are in Christ Jesus (chapter 6) who walk after the Spirit and not after the flesh. For the Spirit of the Life in Christ Jesus has set us free from the Law of sin and death. That the righteousness of the Law be fulfilled in us who walk after the Spirit and not after the flesh. For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.


Which shows us if we continue in this state of sin we will die in our sins.

The entire covenant of Moses is, indeed tied up and summarized by the Tablets of the Covenant exactly as stated in (Hebrews 8:13, Hebrews 9:1,4,14).

Deuteronomy 4:2 states that every jot and tittle that flows from Deuteronomy 4 - Deuteronomy 31:26 is to NEVER be Added to or Subtracted from. Yet, here we are.

God's Holy command through Moses to not Add or Subtract from the 613 is being violated (IMO).

Deut 5: 22 “These words the Lord spoke to all your assembly, in the mountain from the midst of the fire, the cloud, and the thick darkness, with a loud voice; and He added no more. And He wrote them on two tablets of stone and gave them to me.

What makes we think we can add to God's covenant. The agreement on sacrifices is not the covenant of the Ten Commandments. The Ten Commandments is what defines sin Rom 7:7 1 John 3:4 James 2:10-12 Mat 5:19-30. the sacrificial system was added because of sin for breaking God's law. Not the same covenant.

God's Ten Commandments was placed inside the ark of the covenant, under His mercy seat- where Justice and Mercy come together. The law of Moses was placed outside the ark, written by Moses as a witness against Deut 31:24-26

What makes we think we can add to God's covenant. The agreement on sacrifices is not the covenant of the Ten Commandments.
Numbers 15:32 Now while the children of Israel were in the wilderness, they found a man gathering sticks on the Sabbath day. 33 And those who found him gathering sticks brought him to Moses and Aaron, and to all the congregation. 34 They put him under guard, because it had not been explained what should be done to him.

35 Then the Lord said to Moses, “The man must surely be put to death; all the congregation shall stone him with stones outside the camp.” 36 So, as the Lord commanded Moses, all the congregation brought him outside the camp and stoned him with stones, and he died.

The penalty was DEATH. The very 10 carried the highest call that those found "Sinning" by them were to be "Put to DEATH".

Now, was there any other IMPORTANT figure who was PUT TO DEATH (Outside the Camp)? Hebrews 13:12
