  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Nope. That's a hoax.

Immigrants who are lawfully living or authorized to work in the U.S. are eligible for a Social Security number and, in some cases, Social Security benefits. But viral posts make the false claim that “illegal immigrants” can receive Social Security numbers and retirement benefits, and they confuse two programs managed by the Social Security Administration.

Trust those guys and you deserve to be fooled.
This has nothing to do with my post about illegals and why liberals do not want to close the border. I never mentioned SS numbers. Illegals do get many taxpayer funded benefits that vary some from state to state. NY and California seem to be among the most generous. Some benefits include free travel to the city of their choice, free housing in some case, free debit cards some weekly or monthly, access to heath services free. That is just a few. Many choose to go to blue states which are usually more generous with the free stuff. So I stand by my claim this is about eventual new voters and or padding the next census to gain more seats and ultimate control for liberals. Theses are facts. Your post does nothing to disprove what I have said here. The liberals in Washington want the open borders because they see it as a pathway to more power. They are willing to put up with the crime, murder, rape, drugs and human trafficking to gain and maintain power in Washington. These are indisputable facts. If the current administration thought the illegals would vote Republican the border we be closed tomorrow.

Supposedly illegals receive no benefits whatsoever. They pour in here by the millions only to do horrible low paying work no legal citizen would do. And America really needs this 20 million quasi-slave force.

Bad assumption. Notice that Biden has repeatedly called for more border patrol agents and republicans have rejected his requests. Closing the border would be an economic disaster. Mexico is our second-largest trading partner.

Most don't get anything at all. If they have children born here, the children, being American citizens, can get some benefits.

They pour in here by the millions only to do horrible low paying work no legal citizen would do.
Some of them. Increasingly, they are taking better jobs, mostly those coming in from Asia. Summers in high school and college, I did that kind of work on track gangs. Few Americans wanted to build rail in the heat and dirt, so I worked among mexican illegals and a few kids who didn't mind hard work. It's not so bad; some people take pride in being able to do that kind of work.

And America really needs this 20 million quasi-slave force.
The economy needs them. Not only do they add to GDP, some stay and their children become American citizens who keep us from the kind of demographic crisis now growing in Japan and China. Those workers weren't treated badly by the roadmaster; the railroad valued workers like that. I'm sure some sleazy employers exploit them, and a guest worker program that gave them legal protections would be a much-needed improvement.

Around 38% of NPR’s survey respondents said it’s “true” that “immigrants are more likely to use public assistance benefits than the U.S.-born population.”

But immigrants in the U.S. illegally are ineligible for most federal benefits, including Social Security, the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or SNAP, and Medicaid for nonemergency situations.

Immigrants might be eligible for certain health care and nutrition programs, if those benefits are deemed necessary to protect life or guarantee safety in dire situations. Some states, such as New York and California, allow immigrants in the U.S. illegally to receive some state-funded benefits.

More spin. More agents that are not allowed to do their jobs and enforce current law are of no benefit to the problem.

Not talking about closing the border to legitimate trade only illegals entering the country. More liberal spin.

More liberal spin just blame it on the Republicans. The bills the Liberals have put forth do little to nothing to actually solve the problem. Its just a publicity stunt to fool the masses into believing they care about the issue when actually they are encouraging it.

More potential voters more power for liberals. Ignore the murder, rape, drugs, human trafficking just repopulate with potential liberal voters.

None of this feel good liberal spin considers the economic disaster this overwhelming influx of illegals has on the budgets of Cities and States. Even some sanctuary City mayors are crying uncle and drowning in their own self-induced financial problems. Illegals do get free stuff that is a fact!

The cities with the biggest influx of illegals aren't doing so good. And they're obviously illegally pouring across the border in droves for more than just terrible low wage jobs. Plus homeless legal citizens are piling up by the score due to the affordable housing shortage. Which begs the question of where all the illegals are living.

But of course the side that's been so pro illegal immigration can't let themselves be embarrassed by admitting they were wrong.

False. Trump did not try to seize power illegally. That is only liberal propaganda,

I disagree.

It is not intellectuals, who have gutted the college curriculum of required courses.
It is political ideologies.

On the high school level, the dropping of high standards is not the result of intellectuals,
but of political and social worldviews that ignore serious intellectual substance.

It is the anti-intellectual Christian religious groups, that like to characterize the loss
of educational standards, as being caused by "intellectuals".

Note that there are Christians who fully embrace the goodness of the mind, AND
promote a historical curricula that is rigorous. These are "Christians Classical
Education" groups. And, their curricula and alternate competency tests are beginning
to be accepted for college entrance criteria, along with the ACT and SAT.

There are many false standards for being "intellectual".
But those who are anti-intellectual, do not qualify for being competent to
determine academic standards.
It's worth mentioning that being "an intellectual" isn't necessarily the same as simply being intellectual. College faculty are often considered to be intellectuals by the nature of their vocation. However, many faculty members are also political ideologues. In this sense, they can and should be held responsible for the current state of affairs on college campuses.

It is incumbent on people who are pro-intellectual, in the sense of embracing rationality and learning, to challenge the so-called "intellectuals" whose ideologies outweigh their ability to provide a well-rounded education.

Although most faculty members are intelligent people, most intelligent people are not faculty. Faculty and non-faculty are both capable of being ideologues. It's also possible for people who aren't particularly intelligent to hold reasonable opinions.

Those who are anti-intellectual in the sense that they oppose rationality and learning should not determine academic standards. Anti-intellectual Christians fall into this category. Agreed. However, being an intellectual in the vocational sense does not preclude one from being an anti-intellectual ideologue. Ideologue faculty shouldn't determine academic standards either. Although they may be intellectuals by nature of their vocation, their ideologies can be rather anti-intellectual. As is apparent with the mindless acceptance of Marxism and its various forms. A truly intellectual environment would allow for both the teaching and critique of Marxist thought. It would also place greater emphasis on classical education in terms of history, science, mathematics, engineering, politics, philosophy, rhetoric, and the performing arts.

They should enter legally become citizens. Many have chosen to illegally enter and cause a burden for themselves and the American people.

No reasonable person is against LEGAL immigration.
That was a publicity stunt by a Governor, who intended to embarrass the people of Martha's Vineyard, by sending a large number of Venezuelan refugees there, under the false pretenses of getting them jobs. It backfired when the people of that community took in the refugees, fed them, and got them where they could get jobs.
Yes every home in Martha's Vineyard is open to illegals living in their home, give me a break.

From above article:

"Now, only five out of those 49 remain on Martha’s Vineyard, and others have started new lives in different towns throughout Massachusetts — some in government housing and shelters and others in private homes."

Show us that. Sounds like you've been fooled yet again.

From the above liked article:

"Should a migrant go to New York City, they may be eligible for a pre-paid debit card. A pilot program there involves $53 million being spent to give families with two children $350 a week. The cards can only be used at grocery stores, bodegas and convenience stores and migrants must promise to only spend on food and baby supplies. Authorities there said they wanted to see the program expanded to all migrant families currently staying in hotels. A family of four might be provided nearly $1,000 each month, or $35 per day for food, the New York Post reported. The cards are replenished every 28 days."

Please don't tell us you are above anything Fox News reports just deal with the facts no spin.

Is New York giving migrants debit cards in any amount? No spin just facts.

1. The southern border is not open. False a blind man can see the border is open and out of control

2. There is no invasion at the southern border. Liberal spin there is no other name for it. It is invasion!

3. Most fentanyl entering the U.S is not being smuggled by immigrants illegally crossing the border.

Most, some or any what does it matter fentanyl is coming across. Needs to be stopped

4. Immigrants are not more likely to commit crimes than people born in the U.S. No all do not commit crimes but way too many do and some of those have reentered our country multiple times. Close the border.

5. Immigrants in the U.S. illegally are ineligible for most federal benefits. Yes ineligible for many benefits but are given many benefits at the expense of taxes payers to the point of busting budgets in many Cities and States. Blue City mayors crying for help.

6. The government is not secretly flying immigrants around the country. Take out the word "secretly" and then respond . The government is flying immigrants into the country. Hard to hide a big plane but easy to hide the real numbers and data.

The people peddling the stories you mentioned, think Americans are stupid. Don't encourage them.
Looks we might have a disagreement on who is getting fooled here.

I have to encourage Americans to not believe the liberal spin!

The fact that you can't even recognize just how ridiculous this statement was is one of the reasons why it is impossible to believe the right has anything of value to offer in terms of a consistent or meaningful world view.

Considering one of the two is actually punishing his enemies and already addressed America dictator style, that seems a moot question.
