  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

On Trump's 2025 Plan, if he gets re-elected as president

The Civil Service Act was enacted specifically to prevent criminals and tyrants from getting unlimited control of the government. Good luck on repealing that.
It's not working very well! Maybe we can fix it just a bit in November.

OH ! So its only Republicans who gerrymander and commit voter fraud??
Well, as Donald Trump admitted:

Mostly, it's only republicans who need to. It's why, for example, republicans were under court supervision for decades; they signed a consent decree, because of constant voter fraud.

Democrats do it too. Maryland and Illinois, for example. But it's more widespread and useful for republicans. This is why republicans tend to fight any attempt to stop Gerrymandering, and democrats tend to in favor of outlawing it.

Local is closer to the people.

Well, voter fraud is not unique to republicans by no means.
Isn't now a rule that whatever Democratic politicians accuse others of doing, they are only making the accusation because they are doing it themselves?

The Civil Service Reform Act of 1978 was originally enacted due to the fallout of the Watergate scandal in which President Nixon was accused of militarizing the FBI to attack his political rivals. Seems kinda relevant considering the hot water the FBI is in for their actions against Trump over the past 9 years and the complete inaction against Barrack Obama, Hillary Clinton, and Joe Biden. So it appears that your reference to the Act supports Republicans more so that attacks Trump.

The Civil Service Reform Act of 1978
You're about a hundred years off.

This is why sleeping in history class is a bad idea.

They do go after criminals. And as you know, Trump is a convicted criminal. But it has more relevance than you think. Trump tried to weaponize the Justice Department. It's one of the reasons he fired Jeff Sessions. Sessions told him that he couldn't just have people arrested.

WASHINGTON — Attorney General Jeff Sessions had a tenuous hold on his job when President Trump called him at home in the middle of 2017. The president had already blamed him for recusing himself from investigations related to the 2016 election, sought his resignation and belittled him in private and on Twitter.
Now, Mr. Trump had another demand: He wanted Mr. Sessions to reverse his recusal and order the prosecution of Hillary Clinton.
“The ‘gist’ of the conversation,” according to the report by the special counsel, Robert S. Mueller III, quoting Mr. Sessions, “was that the president wanted Sessions to unrecuse from ‘all of it.’”
Mr. Mueller’s report released last week brimmed with examples of Mr. Trump seeking to protect himself from the investigation. But his request of Mr. Sessions — and two similar ones detailed in the report — stands apart because it shows Mr. Trump trying to wield the power of law enforcement to target a political rival, a step that no president since Richard M. Nixon is known to have taken.

This is what Trump wants to remove if he's re-elected. He wants the freedom to just arrest anyone he considers an enemy. After all, Putin does it. Kim does it. Xi does it. Maduro does it. Why can't he?

Not unique. They're just better at it, and do it more often than most others. For the obvious reasons.

Searching for "presidential election" and "general election" through its database did not reveal clear instances of Democratic voter fraud in the 2020 election either. Nonetheless, it has recorded many cases of fraudulent Trump votes and arrests.

I'd be shocked if they caught absolutely everyone. But there's a good reason people doing voter fraud tend to get caught. And so far, in the 2020 election, it's all people voting republican.

His own party turned him in, in Georgia, for example. The Ga. Secretary of State recorded Trump asking him to "find" enough votes for him to win the state. He told his followers to go to the Capitol and "fight like hell" to stop the election from being certified. It's all on tape. No point in denying it.

More Liberal spin and propaganda. It is a fact that it the liberals are allowing the flood of illegals across the border. Why? It is simple let them in give them free stuff make them citizens and hoping they will vote for the hand that feeds them.

Then if they (liberal politicians) can't make them legal citizens they can cook the census books in blue states and dilute red states to gain more seats in congress. It's all about gaining and maintaining power. That is what was meant by Republicans never winning another election. It is pure MISINFORMATION and or propaganda to say Trump or any conservative wants to keep LEGITIMATE US citizens from voting.

Why would liberals in Washington ignore the crime, murder, rape, theft , human trafficking and drugs, if it were not for trying to gain and maintain more power?

Biden's border executive action was a farce doing nothing to help at the border. It was only to give the appearance of taking action because the American public is fed up with the inaction. No crying the Republicans are holding up legislation on the border that is another ruse. The President can shut down the border, this is a national crisis ,but sadly he wants to do nothing and blame it on republicans. We would be in much better shape if the EXISTING law on the books was adhered to.

That Georgia case is falling apart so fast it will make even your head spin. Speaking of spin your post here is more liberal spin .

Trump did not try to seize power illegally. Now he did want illegality exposed and sadly there are some Republicans In Name Only that are the only ones you can tout on this topic.

More liberal spin. It is false that only Republicans cheat in elections. A tally of who gets arrested means nothing.

I don't have the numbers here but I would guess more people got arrested for praying outside an abortion clinic than got arrested for cheating for the Democrats. Surely you get my point! If not I will be happy to explain it.

The public is not choosing to eliminate schools. They are choosing to get government control out of their schools.
And that is exactly what will make the gap in the class system even wider. If the general public is not offered public education, only those whose families can afford to educate their children will be educated. That would also plummet our national standards making us instead of a world leader in education a dumbed-down country. I can see why it's attractive to conservatives because as capitalists, the less educated the people are, the less you have to pay a living wage, turning the clock back to serfdom. Would that make America great or would educating the masses make America great? Also in our own country with independent school districts. Some states will be perpetually dimmer or smarter than others. I don't think that promotes the notion of equality
This should not be a problem. The government has made these things a problem for the public......
It's only a problem for those who want to hide reality from their children. We also know that there are other options than public school like home schooling and private school. Nobody is forced into public school. It's ok to take one's own kids out of public school because they don't like what their local school teaches or allows in their library. It's another thing to seek to eliminate public schools and stop the rest of the population from getting an education. There "forbidden" topics are going to be learned one way or another. We can look at it academically and give them the facts and if parents avaid the topic all together, they will just learn it in the streets and be more likely to be confused by it.

That Georgia case is falling apart so fast it will make even your head spin.
They said that about the felonies he committed in New York, too. How did that turn out?

Trump's lawyers are desperately trying to keep the Georgia case from going to trial before the election. If Trump was innocent, you'd think they would want him cleared before the election. Problem for Trump is more of his underlings have been talking to prosecutors.

The Georgia Court of Appeals’ order on Wednesday prevents Fulton County Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee from moving forward with pretrial motions as he had planned while the appeal is pending. While it was already unlikely that the case would go to trial before the November general election, when Trump is expected to be the Republican nominee for president, this makes that even more certain.

A Fulton County grand jury in August indicted Trump and 18 others, accusing them of participating in a sprawling scheme to illegally try to overturn the 2020 presidential election in Georgia. Four defendants have pleaded guilty after reaching deals with prosecutors, but Trump and the others have pleaded not guilty. It is one of four criminal cases against Trump.

Nope. That's a hoax.

Immigrants who are lawfully living or authorized to work in the U.S. are eligible for a Social Security number and, in some cases, Social Security benefits. But viral posts make the false claim that “illegal immigrants” can receive Social Security numbers and retirement benefits, and they confuse two programs managed by the Social Security Administration.
