Except for with the grabbing of pitchforks that comes with inventing a problem and then hastily slapping together bad legislation to stop the non-problem, it creates problems for everybody else. Some states are struggling with knowing if that means they can’t prescribe hormonal birth control, others unsure of if they can do hormonal therapy to help with puberty.
Then, of course, there’s the issue that comes with giving medical control of ourselves and our children to legislators with no medical training, as opposed to the doctors with medical training and direct knowledge of their patients needs. Most of us don’t want to say “I need some meds, better call my legislator to get them.”
I find it wild that under Obama, the same people who want Obamacare because it would create “death panels” where the value of people’s lives and medical care would be decided by the government are the same ones advocating for the nanny state medical care.
One payer, socialized medicine and standardized care for everybody regardless of situation? No!
Government limiting and overseeing medical professionals and private insurance to ensure compliance to state-mandated morality standards? Yes!
