I would assume that it would be allowed because it would not be castrating the little guy.

AI Overview:
Surgery for undescended testicles, also known as orchiopexy, is an outpatient procedure that involves moving the testicles into the scrotum. A surgeon will typically perform orchiopexy if a child's ball doesn't descend on its own before their first birthday.

What's your point?
But it would be “gender-affirming care”, no?

IDK, you tell me. I'd love to see you go into detail with the comparison.
A male child, who has undescended testicles, (which would hamper their ability later in life to produce viable sperm), surgery is indicated. This surgery is designed to “make them whole”, thus “affirming” their gender-role in society…was it allowable under the defunct Florida statute, do you know?
But I seriously doubt you will.
It’s too early in the morning for me to respond to your goading.

How does that surgical procedure compare to turning a little boy into a girl?

I'm just trying to get a straightforward answer. It's your comparison so just spell it out instead of trying to maneuver me.

How does that surgical procedure compare to turning a little boy into a girl?
It affirms his male identity by altering his body to conform to the norm for male bodies.

If a law bans “gender affirming care”, and does not specifically have “carve-outs” for mundane surgical care for making boys “whole” (affirming their gender), it would make such routine medical procedures illegal for no reason.

I done did, surely you’ve read it.

So moving a ball to where it belongs is basically the same thing as removing the testicles and turning the penis inside out to create an artificial vagina. If they're going to ban the latter it's only fair and reasonable that they should ban the former.

There, that's spelling it out in a straightforward manner.
I done did, surely you’ve read it.
Decoded is more like it.

Is or has orchiopexy ever been listed in any medical text as "gender affirming care"? If so what other urological procedures should be added?

Gender affirming care can also reassure a child who is afraid he might be trans that his fears are groundless.

Nevermind, I hunted down the statute in question ”Sex-reassignment prescriptions and procedures are prohibited for patients younger than 18 years of age.”
The law targeted transgender children‘s care…by eliminating it.
They couldn’t even be bothered to hide their animus by couching it in general terms.
No wonder it was struck down.
There, that's spelling it out in a straightforward manner.
Thank you, but as above ’tis moot
Decoded is more like it.
Oh goodie another goad.

It won't happen again.
But I think it's time you backed up some of your ideas.

For example, can you tell us how many persons in this country under the age of 18 have been subjected to gender reassignment surgery, and of that number how many received it without the permission of their parent or guardian?

That's not my idea, it's something you made up about something I never said.

So you don't know how many persons under 18 have been given gender reassignment surgery? If, as you apparently believe, the threat of it is real you should know that number.

We were, as I understood it, talking about a future situation that might exist. In other words it was hypothesis. I understand that you're anxious to grill me but you're barking up a nonexistent tree.

Literally will never understand the fixation some people have with managing and auditing what gender somebody else identifies as.

The closest I came when, while I was at work, I saw a red hat hit on one of the girls I work with. Super insistent on getting her number. I suspect if he realized she was a transgender woman, he would have been super big mad, lol.

It's twofold. First there's all the involvement of children. Second it's all the demands on everyone to use umpteen gender pronouns and such. Eliminate those and the fixation will dispel into apathy.

There isn’t, but ok.

Telling others they can’t get gender affirming care because pronouns are hard is not a valid reason.

If they are at risk for suicide because they truly believe they are the opposite gender, maybe some doctors would argue it’s “medically appropriate.”
Suicide rates do not drop after the mutilation - in fact they rise.

But it would be “gender-affirming care”, no?
No - it is corrective surgery - always has been - always will be.

Thank goodness that the leadership in Florida is catching up with what the EU has already acted on.

So as far as you know, the threat of trans children being subjected to gender reassignment surgery is imaginary?
