  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

MSNBC legal expert says Hunter Biden verdicts proves that Joe Biden is the ‘embodiment of the rule of law'

During an appearance on "MSNBC Reports" following the younger Biden's conviction on federal charges regarding him buying and owning a firearm while addicted to drugs, the legal expert praised the president for not getting in the way of his Department of Justice’s prosecution of his own son.
"You have a president of the United States who is living embodiment of the rule of law," Weissmann told MSNBC host José Díaz-Balart.

Of course he said that. Now that Hunter has been convicted our system of law must be completely fair.

A bit of hyperbole (living embodiment), but the difference in respect for the judicial process between the two major candidates is stark.

(Just for fun, Weissmann was the Mueller team prosecutor who found the Cohen payment to Stormy Daniels that lead to Cohen's arrest.)

It pretty much disproves the "Biden set me up! Biden is weaponizing the Justice Department against me! I'm innocent!" malarkey that we hear from Mr. Trump ad nauseam.

Whereas Mr. Trump has been whining and complaining and saying the people will revolt (get in line, people, shape up, another insurrection might be in the works) if he is sentenced to prison; President Biden has acted presidential, saying that his son has made mistakes (AND shown remorse AND changed his life--unlike Mr. Trump) and he still loves him but accepts the verdict.

The contrast between Mr. Trump and President Biden couldn't be clearer, and it couldnt be clearer who deserves to have "Crooked" in front of his name.

If only he had gotten involved in the prosecution of Michael Cohen. That case will be studied by law students and historians for centuries.

This Hunter conviction is just a smoke screen. It is the only one of the potential cases against Hunter with no tie back to good ole Dad. It's kinda of like Hunter takes one for the team to deflect attention. away from the crime family. No one really believes Hunter will do time.

Joe said he would not pardon his son but then again Joe has lied before. Joe did not say he would not commute Hunter's sentence.

Before we get caught up in this "our system of law must be completely fair" nonsense let's just wait to see how this all plays out.

Not to mention that when those who had worked for Trump, charged (and in some cases convicted) by Trump's DoJ, tended to quickly find themselves granted a pardon.

Which is just another way of saying "I'm spamming the thread with nothing new to say".

The quoted "truth" is frankly laughable that the younger Mr. Biden would just go to trial to "take one for the team". If he was just taking the fall as a distraction, he could plead out. Additionally, his legal troubles aren't done. There is a whole other case in California, and that's before any of this foreign lobbying stuff.

Huh? If only who had? Cohen was prosecuted by Trump's DOJ. Who are you saying should have been involved in that?

Hunter Biden conviction: smokescreen!
That is because the charge Hunter was convicted of is very small potatoes compared to the levels of corruption within the Biden family.

The House impeachment inquiry hasn't found anything significant.

They finally made their referrals to the DOJ for some Biden crime family members.

My goodness. Are you implying that Trump should have intervened? Why didn't Biden pardon him since it was a ridiculous miscarriage of justice.

You're the one who started this talk about intervening in post #4. If you have some point to make, you better go back to square one.

The Republicans know that the Senate will never ever have the 60 votes necessary to have a guilty conviction of Impeachment. Just like the Democratic Party should have known they would not be able to have the 60 necessary votes to make Trump guilty with the 2 Impeachments during Trump's first term.

My goodness, no! How in the world did you arrive at that conclusion? Again, I don't know who the "he" is that you referred to. Do you? Can you, will you, say?
Why didn't Biden pardon him since it was a ridiculous miscarriage of justice.
How was it a ridiculous miscarriage of justice that needed pardoning? What is a miscarriage of justice is Trump getting off when Cohen was imprisoned for years for doing Trump's bidding.

If Angus hires a hitman to off his business partner, who is more guilty, the hitman or Angus?

Yes, we as Americans undersestimated the Republican Party's fielty to his highness. As I have written on multiple occassions -- this is not the Republican party of 1974. It is a party beholden to one man.

On the other hand, there is no doubt that the leadership of the Democratic Party has done everything possible, including lawfare and weaponization of the justice department, to make sure that the Democratic Party remains in power. The Democratic Party has also moved very far to the left in political and policies positions so that the liberals from the 70s, 80s, 90s, and early 2000s can see that this is NOT the traditional Democratic Party from those decades. Why have the leaders of the Democratic Party moved to the extreme left?
