  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

It has everything in common with this. Every time he's a loser, he throws a tantrum "NO FAIR!!" "RIGGED!" The same as when he lost the election. He's not just a frequent loser; he's a very poor loser. And his history of blaming others for his failures will be well-known by the appeals judges.

What makes you think it's going to work for him this time?

This is why he's a convicted criminal. It's all on record, and there were witnesses. It would be pretty dumb to base an appeal on the facts, which is why the jury convicted him.

Yeah and things can be in error.
Given his history of always crying "NO FAIR!!!" when he loses, there's a more likely explanation.

There is plenty of History on all sides. Tantrums too. Let's just be patient and see how it goes.

I think there are tantrums in other places too.
For example, in every case in the past, the defeated candidate for president conceded and wished the winner well. Hillary Clinton, most recently.
Trump threw a 24 hour tantrum and launched dozens of lawsuits, none of which found the election to have been unfair. He always does this when he loses.

The issue is, Trump and his people seem to think that Biden was able to do what Trump tried to do and failed:

WASHINGTON — President Trump told the White House counsel in the spring that he wanted to order the Justice Department to prosecute two of his political adversaries: his 2016 challenger, Hillary Clinton, and the former F.B.I. director James B. Comey, according to two people familiar with the conversation.

The lawyer, Donald F. McGahn II, rebuffed the president, saying that he had no authority to order a prosecution. Mr. McGahn said that while he could request an investigation, that too could prompt accusations of abuse of power. To underscore his point, Mr. McGahn had White House lawyers write a memo for Mr. Trump warning that if he asked law enforcement to investigate his rivals, he could face a range of consequences, including possible impeachment.

The encounter was one of the most blatant examples yet of how Mr. Trump views the typically independent Justice Department as a tool to be wielded against his political enemies. It took on additional significance in recent weeks when Mr. McGahn left the White House and Mr. Trump appointed a relatively inexperienced political loyalist, Matthew G. Whitaker, as the acting attorney general.

Yeah and things can be in error. That is what appeals are for.
But…in Trumps case it’s ALWAYS an “error,” there’s ALWAYS an excuse, it’s ALWAYS a”disgrace,” ”sham”, rigged” etc. The common denominator in it all is Trump.

And what in the world was his coming out of the courtroom everyday to give little speeches to the media, holding handfuls of paper blowing in the wind, reciting a listing all these people he claims believe he’s innocent all about anyway? LOL. Did he really think the opinions of those people would have any impact in the trial’s outcome whatsoever?

They could not even get a clear answer from the prosecution what the particular crime was he was being charged.
The charges are all explained in the indictment, which was issued by the grand jury.

My husband was on a grand jury once and it’s serious stuff. Trump wasn’t indicted and then convicted of 34 felonies as some kind of mistake.

Yes, and the Fbi Lied for Hillary
But no one can show that it happened? How unfortunate.
and the biden laptop being Russian disinformation
I think you got your conspiracy theories mixed up. What incriminating evidence do you think they found on the laptop? Last time I checked the republicans didn't want to talk about it any more.

But if I missed something, maybe you can tell me what crime I missed. What do you have?

Hillary for LOOOONG time whined Russia elected Trump.
Well, let's take a look...

Hillary Clinton delivered an emotional address Wednesday, channeling a devastating loss to encourage her supporters to give President-elect Donald Trump a chance to lead and to inspire them to never give up in what likely marked the sunset of her political career.

Clinton privately conceded the election to Trump in a phone call early Wednesday morning but held off formally doing so before the thousands of supporters who were gathered inside the glass-ceiling Jacob K. Javits Convention Center awaiting election results in the wee hours into Wednesday.

“Last night, I congratulated Donald Trump and offered to work with him on behalf of our country,” Clinton said later Wednesday in her concession. “I hope that he will be a successful president for all Americans. This is not the outcome we wanted or we worked so hard for, and I’m sorry that we did not win this election for the values we share and the vision we hold for our country.”

But maybe you have a statement from a checkable source in which she said Russia elected Trump. What do you have?

Patience patience....
No one else can show us any of this either. I think I know why...

Bob Menendez and John Edwards would disagree with you. And Edwards whined about it being a political hit job, too. Crooked politicians always play that story. Trump is just the latest.

Apparently, nothing of consequence was on the stolen laptop (which seems to have been Hunter Biden's computer) because the republicans had possession of it and never found any crimes documented therein.

The other two claims are just fantasies.

Why do you think "hush money" has been so central to this case?
Other than the basis for the predicate crime, it had no direct bearing on the case. Though, calling it a "hush money" trial did drum up interest for the news media.

They took a dead misdemeanor which Bragg did not bring way back. And the statute of limitation has run out on that.
No, it hadn't. As I understand it, the statute is stalled if the person leaves the state, which Trump did.

So they resurrected it to a felony by making that agreement paid to get relected.
Well, the fact that it was election fraud, as Cohen pled guilty to, did increase the crime to a felony, since he falsified business records to hide that crime.

Why do you think witnesses were testifying about WHY HE PAID STORMY? Just days after he was running for election again.
Because it was part of the case the prosecution was building.

Did you watch the trial? Why do think stormy even testified?
I didn't watch the trial, I don't live in NY. I followed it somewhat in the media, but I admit, it didn't take up a large part of my day.

Information about the trial is freely available, though. So if you have any questions, you can easily find out the answers. There's also a full transcript.

-- A2SG, no shortage of coverage, so you needn't be confused about the details of the case....

The sentencing phase will be interesting since the convicted’s “remorse” is often a factor in the judge’s deliberations.
I will go out on a limb and predict that the convicted shan’t show the Court any remorse whatsoever.
WHY WOULD I SHOW REMORSE WHEN I HAVEN'T DONE ANYTHING WRONG?!?! WHERE ARE MY SCOTUSES?!?!

Has he every taken responsibility for anything he's done wrong? Ever?

To Donald Trump taking personal responsibility is a sign of weakness. Kim Jong Un never accepts blame for anything. Vladimir Putin never accepts blame for anything.
