I'm sorry, no I cannot do that... since I'm not sure where you got it, lol.

John 2:

Berean Literal Bible:

Did Jesus create good wine that the wedding guests got drunk on?

No. Barnes explained:

According to Barnes, what the wedding banquet MC called "good wine" was what we call "grape juice" today.

Okay..... BARNES is WRONG.

How do we Know?

"and said to him, “Everyone serves the good wine first, and when people have drunk freely, then the poor wine. But you have kept the good wine until now.”

The LITERAL insinuation of this passage is that the PEOPLE were SO Drunk on the GOOD WINE, that they didn't know the difference between Good wine and Poor Wine!

Barnes literally abrogated the passage per his personal misunderstandings! Jews liked to get DRUNK! It's a FACT! They kept that Wine Flowing! It literally brought dishonor to a Wedding Couple and their parents if people weren't kept Buzzed or Beyond!

If I'm drinking wine at one of my children's Weddings and someone serves me "Grape Juice", I'm not going to be happy! The Jews would have Rioted! I'm not even exaggerating.

This is not correct.

AAAAAANNNNNDDDDDD... I just found out why he Abrogated Scripture.
Barnes was a temperance advocate who encouraged complete abstinence from alcohol.

How about from the Bible? Commentaries are useless! Lingual studies? Sure. Cross Ref. Sure.

They are flat wrong.

Strong's Root word of phrase is: (methuó) derivative of Have Drunk Freely (methysthōsin)

Englishman's Concordance
Strong's Greek: 3184. μεθύω (methuó) — 6 Occurrences

Do I have to? 1 John 2:27
Thanks for the reference. This is how to do referencing and quotation in a scholarly manner:
  1. Display and indent the relevant text.
  2. Selectively bold the particular keywords that are important to your point. There is no need to bold the entire sentence. Have a laser-sharp focus.
  3. Be concise and precise to the point. No need to quote the whole paragraph.
I do this for others who read my posts. It is a standard high-school scholarship. If you practice this, I guarantee it will sharpen your analytical thinking. In any case, no one is required to do it. I prefer to debate with people who do.

Allow me to put it this way.... All of those commentary's didn't have the entire library of scripture literally TRANSLATED by scholars.... into MANY Translations... that we can actually see all at once per verse.... and we can Study Root Lingual words in seconds, unless grammar needs to be studied out, which isn't difficult for tech savvy folks to figure out, via Lingual tools.

Those guys didn't have access to computers. Being honest. That's how I make myself patient with MANY of their gross eisogetical errors.

Thanks for your comments. I edited the OP. Take another look. Thanks :)
Now... You earned this.... It is HARD to surrender to Scriptural implications, when one is a committed Theologian and goes an entire direction on a matter then have to one-line and change directions!

Let it be known, that Tonychanyt places scripture above all things UNDER Jesus Christ, who is his First Love and Passion! This is a man who handles scripture with HONESTY!

I, a very specifically difficult person to get these words out of towards a Theologian mean every word of this! I hereby recognize that Tony is Humble with scripture... and Though we are all fallible... and ONLY Jesus Christ and God Breathed by the Holy Spirit of Christ scripture itself is ironclad... it is inspiring to see a fellow Theologian allow scripture to interpret scripture!

All Love in Jesus Christ to you, my Bother and Friend in Him, who Tabernacles within you!
