Johnson promised action and broke his word. People are dead and lives have been ruined, lives that could have been saved had Johnson acted with honor and integrity.

Thumbs up from the big guy!

Not what the country needs, another fair- weather attorney in Congress. So many cave to the establishment, big money rules.
You should message your candidate and let him know. Maybe do so in the form of voting. Does he really deserve your vote if he's not doing what you would be electing him to do and "not hurting the right people?" I think not. ;)

Why can't Trump see through him?

Or Jeff Sessions? or Barr? Or Pence? Or Reince Priebus? Or Scaramucci? Or John Kelly? Or Jim Mattis? Or Mark Esper? Or...

Polls over the last few weeks from the Economist and YouGov capture the story: Johnson is surging with Democrats, and collapsing with Republicans. Johnson has seen in just the past two weeks alone double digit swings towards him among Democrats and away from him among Republicans.

Power corrupts.
But Trump is left untouched by said corruption, of course.

The 118th Congress has been the least productive in terms of “bills passed” than any of the others of the 117.
And your complaint is he’s too willing to work with the establishment ?
When did normal, productive politics become “bad”?

Seems to me there are a number of GOP members who prefer entertainment over governance. It does seem to fit with their "small government" rhetoric, though...government so small there's nothing for representatives to do but perform for us. "All the world's a stage..."

-- A2SG, that certainly would explain Trump...better than any other theory I've heard....

No. My complaint is about those who put their own careers ahead of the American people. In this case doing something harmful. It happens WAY more then most people believe.

In a thread about the Speaker of the House who Mister Trump seems to like, you found the need to make a complaint about the general lackadaisical nature of career politicians?
Okie doke.

The thread is about the betrayal by Mike Johnson, the Trump comment was introduced later and is not the subject of the thread.

More children are crossing our borders and being sex trafficked every day. Johnson had an opportunity to stand up against this terrible wrong and he did not.
Trump told him not to.

The NY Times would pay big money for the proof, have you contacted them?

Haley condemns Trump for efforts to kill border bill; Trump vows to fight bill ‘all the way’

“I notice a lot of the senators, a lot of the senators are trying to say, respectfully, they’re blaming it on me,” Trump continued. “I said ‘that’s OK, please blame it on me.’ Please, because they were getting ready to pass a very bad bill. And I’ll tell you what, a bad bill, I’d rather have no bill than a bad bill.”

You'd think conservatives would be most concerned about the complete lack of productive legislation and schizophrenic nature of the Republican party, but no. It's just a general criticism of politics and the evils of the Democrats.

I assume you're thinking of some sort of unicorn immigration bill that Speaker Johnson could get through both chambers of Congress and signed by President Biden by Johnson's own power. Feel free to blame him for his imaginary failures.

I think they call it HR2, but there was zero chance of that passing the Senate as is.

Looks like that passed the House under Speaker McCarthy (and yes went on to die in the Senate).
