I have someone telling me that the earth is only 6,000 years old. Now I understand that a little bit but I wonder where the dinosaurs came from? I know there is a YEC who calls himself Dr Dino but I can not research why he uses this name because his videos have been removed.

I see you are Methodist. The UMC is rather liberal and no mainline Protestant Church teaches the earth is only 6,000 year old. Ask your own pastor, read, and do your own research.

In the book of job there are mentions of behemoth and the great leviathan, so God did create the dinosaurs and giant sea creatures. But the book of Genesis makes it very clear that God created every living thing that has been on earth. People try to argue there was a time before Adam and Eve, but there is no biblical proof of it and they are using that theory to try to explain what happened to the dinosaurs and try to explain where demons came from. I personally believe we just hunted them away. Just like many of the animals that have become extinct, like wholly mammoths, dinosaur fell victim mankind.

As for the earth being 6000 years old, that is hard to say because there are estimates from people who have taken the ages and time-frames mention in the Bible and added them together to get an estimate of 6000 years. The bible does give good genealogical accounts of peoples ancestry and so that's how they came to their answer. The bible mentions the ancestry from Adam to Jesus in great detail, and then we just add the 2024 from there.

Yes, but only day 5 were sea mammals & birds, and early on day 6 mammals and other land creatures. So only for a very short time, as many was the last living being to be created

ἔκπαλαι is an ancient Greek adverb that means “long ago” or “in the distant past.” It’s a beautiful word that evokes a sense of timelessness and nostalgia. We see this word twice in what Peter is telling us. This is translated "long ago" and "old". Peter tells us a day is 1,000 years. Not a 24 hour day as some pre suppose. The age or era we live in began 13,000 years ago. The earth was covered with ice.

Yes, on that point we agree, that the land animals and man were separate creations. And that is a really good point that also shows the land animals did not "evolve" into humans.

Moses himself tells us that a day is 1,000 years. Science tells us that the earth is billions of years old. I am amazed at how Awesome God is. A day is a 24 hour day. In the north pole a day can be 24 of light or 24 of darkness. A day can mean 1,000 years. An example of this is the kingdom age or the 1,000 year reign of Christ refered to as a day. A day can also be 8 billion years. Because the Bible says in the Beginning God created the Heavens and the Earth. We know the uiniverse is 13.8 billion years old and the earth is 4.5 billion years old. That means day one is 9.2 billion years old.

We can go on all day about how amazing the universe is, how amazing God is. Even our brain is designed to marvel at the wonders of it all. If 9.2 billion years is a day to God, that is amazing. Of course we know God is outside of time. We know that the universe is expanding. If as you say the universe was created in an instant, something so huge and immence that is amazing also.

Either way this all brings praise, honor and glory to God. If you are an expert on day. Why don't you telll us what the day of the lord is.

Psalms 90:1-17

In this Psalm, a thousand human years is compared to one day for the Lord God. Psalms is a book of poetry and it is one of my most favorite books in the Bible.

In this chapter, Moses described 6 different times that the days of Creation were an evening and a morning.

In the 10 Commandments, the Lord God has the command to honor the Sabbath Day on the 7th day of the week because God created the Heavens and the Earth, the sea, and all that is in them in 6 days before He rested on the 7th day.

The day of the Lord is the return of Christ, when He will bring into being the new heavens and earth. 2 Peter chapter 3. As far as the 1000 years as one day, (also in 2 Peter 3), consider the 1000 year increments since the creation which places us presently around the 6,000 year mark, with the millennial kingdom being the 7th.

I heard the magnetic field could reverse itself. Maybe someday north will be south and south will be north on the compass. They do say it is possible that the magnetic field has an effect on the atmosphere and oxygen levels. God has all of that under control. In fact the universe is very fine tuned.

The universe is very fine tuned. We see that every night with the stars and all the workings of the heavens. Life is also very fine tuned up on earth.

I have heard it said that God created everything with the APPEARANCE of age, though it isn't all that old. For example, with the rate of erosion, these structures would have long been destroyed and turned to dust. Arches in Utah...

Also, we now have the James Webb telescope showing us what some say are stars that are 28 billion light years away, which just doesn't compute with the standard 14 billion years ago of the universe! But then we have this!

Well, ok - so which is it? And there is no end, which is almost beyond our comprehension, but not God's! And how is it we see what appear to be young stars and older stars and all bunched up supposedly giving us light that is supposedly 14 or 28 or 33 billion years old?

Job 38:19-20 explains "Where is the way where light dwelleth? and as for darkness, where is the place thereof,
That thou shouldest take it to the bound thereof, and that thou shouldest know the paths to the house thereof?"

Genesis 1:3, "And God said, Let there be light: and there was light." Day one. Stars were made day 4. The paths of light were already there. The moment a star was created it could be seen from earth. If Adam had had the James Webb telescope he's have seen what we see today. A crude and quite rudimentary analogy would be click your cursor from the bottom of the next message you type to the top. It don't move, it immediately shifts the information from one spot to another. That's just a man made device, a computer or a phone. Imagine how God operates!

You are looking at the rate of erosion but how long did it take for those layers to be formed and why is there erosion now? Also, we see is red from oxygen. Instead, they crumple and fold until the rocks are forced up to form a mountain range. As the plates continue to collide, mountains will get taller and taller.

When they say as old as the hills, they mean old. The hills, those stoic sentinels, bear witness to eons of time. You talk about the erosion rate and that is fine. But how long did it take for those mountains to be formed so that they could erode? Do you know that we find fossils of shells from the ocean on the top of mountains? They like talking about the shells on the top of mountains as evidence of a world wide flood.

Stars were made day 4.

The stars were made in the beginning on day one. Daniel 12 3 "Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars for ever and ever."

Stars are forever past according to Danial and forever future. WE like the stars will live forever. We can look into the past to see how long we will live in the future. But people think forever and ever is a day. That means we are only going to live a day. Why they can accept eternal in the future but they can not accept the eternal age of the Universe.

Mountains were formed during the flood event, when pangea broke up, so yes there was an earth before the mountains. There were only hills and smaller mountains in the pre flood world. The "ancient mountains" and everlasting hills are places like the Appalachians and the Ozarks in the US and comparable small mountains elsewhere.

The Utah formations were caused by water erosion & flood runoff. True, it doesn't rain much there, but there is also wind erosion. There are sand dunes that show they were created by water not wind due to the angle.

The large mountains like the Rockies, Tetons, Cascades, Himalayas, Urals, etc were formed by the plates moving in a catastrophic way and pushing that rock much higher than the ancient mountains and hills.
