Actually, the Moslems got in ahead of you with their black obelisk in Mecca, but yours is cooler 'cos it has whirlpools. Theirs is real though, while yours came out of someone's febrile imagination.

Mercator based his map of the North Pole on legends which were based on legends which were based on man's reasoning why compasses pointed North. None of them had actually been to the North Pole.
Uh, no. Did you even listen to the video you linked? Mercator was referring to the legend that the mythical King Arthur had travelled with his armies into the region. Mercator himself never witnessed any of it, he simply based his map on hearsay and legend exactly as I said.
He has also flown to the South pole. Do you accept his testimony?

No. He claims that strong magnetic fields cause images to rotate rather than just the polarisation of the light from the image. He claims this understanding was God's inspiration when it is just his own pseudo-science to explain why the moon and constellations appear inverted compared to the Northern Hemisphere when viewed from the Southern Hemisphere. In short, pastor Dean has no credibility. He especially shot himself in the foot using Admiral Byrd's testimony, since he is better remembered for flying to the South Pole than he is for the North.
