That's a different conversation, probably not appropriate here. The short answer is, that not all Christians believe, nor have all Christians ever believed, that the Genesis creation stories need be taken as accurate literal history. No essential doctrines of Christianity depend on it.

One way to test a theory is with predictions.

For ToE a prediction is that human, bird, any mammal
reptile amphibian or tree fossil would be found
in the Cambrian.
Or simpler, no cows with dinosaurs.

No such mix has ever been found.
Find it and ToE is toast.

... see, here's the rub: I don't have to swallow and digest your supposed discernment in implying that someone like myself "isn't" a Christian.

But, if you feel you absolutely must proceed with the alleged contraposition that you think exists between YEC Christians and those who, like myself, affirm the Bible along with valuing the Theory of Evolution as a scientific explanation of biological history, then I can't stop you.

I don't believe a person can be a true Christian, unless they believe in God. Yes I know many will come before Christ on judgement day sayin "Lord Lord, haven't we done a lot of good things" But He will turn to them and say "I never knew you" and He will cast them into the lake of fire. God is talking about professing Christians being cast into the lake of fire.

It begs the question then, who are true Christians and who are falsely professing to be Christians
