It sort of reminds me of that movie, "Don't look up". The "deniers" were warning people all over the place about what was happening, but the leadership said everything was fine. And they silenced the "deniers that everything was fine" the best they could. I see that all over the place today. I suspect the movie was trying to make the exact opposite case, but the story was not about what was happening, it was about the response of the two sides of the issue. One is going deep on the facts while the other is light on facts and trying to silence the other side. Maybe that's why the movie faded from the picture. It missed its intended mark. Meanwhile, I thought it was hilarious. Especially the software predicting how the Meryl Streep character was gonna die.
