Which is as nonsensical as it sounds.

If you read this article, you may understand why I have become a little bit critical regarding over-woke language.
In Germany some may be very thorough and strict.

You guys have to stop melting down over “woke” things. None of you can articulate exactly what is so threatening about it or why anyone should care that any corporation or institution is implementing policies that help a broader scope of people. It’s pathetic. Come up with your own way to help people or get out of the way.

Gendering in German has been done for quite a long time and is completely normal and not at all troublesome to most people.

The only problem I have is that it isn't done with negatively connotated words as often as with neutral or positive words.

I'm not a Buddhist, but I've read some of his accounts. According to legend, Siddhartha Gautama was once questioned by several scholarly men who were skeptical of his teachings. They asked "Are you a god?" He answered no. "Are you a god reincarnated?" Again, no.. "Are you a wizard?' Still no. Finally, they asked "Then what are you?' And Siddhartha answered, "I am awake." In fact, in the Sanskrit language, Buddha means the awakened, or enlightened one. Or one who's "woke."

Buddhism doesn't have a monopology on the word. Awakening or enlightenment has its own connotations outside that religion.

The term "woke" actually came from the African American community in the US, to refer to people that are more politically aware, often influenced by left-wing politics or conspiracy theories. You can find this kind of "woke" character occasionally in Spike Lee movies from the 80's and 90's.
