In short, if you have a low view of Jesus and the apostles and Scripture, then I suppose the Chosen is right up your alley.
Jesus, the apostles, and Scripture is insulted or downgraded in these series. This should be obvious to any true biblical student who has been born again. I am so glad I have not watched this series. It’s highly offensive trash that attacks our Savior. Then again, Christians today do not read their Bible to truly see that it is false. My encouragement is to seek out the truth on this show and compare it with the Bible in prayer with the Lord.

You are defending false Mormon theology, which again is a quote from the Book of Mormon - BTW.
The show is primarily owned by Mormons and so its not a coincidence they quote the book of Mormon.
Matthew 5:17 proves that Jesus is not the Law because He came to fulfill it. Meaning, He came to obey everything in the Law as being a man. Also, Jesus was made under the Law (Galatians 4:4). You cannot fulfill the Law by obeying it if you are the Law. You cannot be made under the Law if you are already the Law. So Mormon theology from the Book of Mormon that says, “I am the Law” that is repeated on the Chosen by the character of Jesus is false.

Side Note:

Mormon theology is forbidden to be promoted in this section of the forums even. So if you are standing behind false Mormon Theology, you need to lower the bar and go to the non-Christian section of these forums to do so.

Then stop bringing it up all the time!

It’s a show that is insulting to Jesus Christ and the Bible.

These are the deviations from the traditional biblical held beliefs within "The Chosen." They undermine the sufficiency, inerrancy, and authority of Scripture, as well as challenge the divinity, authority, and goodness of Jesus. The portrayed Jesus appears to deviate from the biblical teachings by not insisting on repentance, tolerating sin, and seemingly punishing disciples through afflictions such as starvation, disease, and the death of loved ones. This depiction does not align with the biblical portrayal of Jesus, who consistently affirmed the inerrancy, authority, infallibility, and sufficiency of Scripture. Jesus did not advocate for the idea that knowledge of God could be obtained outside the Bible. Consequently, believers should exercise caution and steer clear of "The Chosen," as it contains heretical elements contrary to the fundamental tenets of the faith. Despite widespread acceptance, heresies indeed permeate "The Chosen."

Its just a show!!! Its not meant to be seen as 'gospel'...

Don't assume that just because a person (like myself) happens to watch The Chosen (or Fringe for that matter), that he therefore also must have a low view of Jesus or the Apostles or of Scripture. Granted, I might not have the "same" view as you do on these three points, but that doesn't mean my views are, as you've put it, "low." Nor should you typecast and cite as heretical every other person, or fellow Christian, in existence who differs from you in his/her perception about...................well.......................almost anything in the world, including some T.V. show.

Personally, I've always liked the Jesus of Nazareth mini-series from the 1970s. But at the same time, I'll readily share that I've never gotten my Christian Education from movies or t.v. series. No, I've acquired my education from intensive study for over 30 years. And by that intensive study, I know that Mormons are incorrect in their doctrines and that they have made up histories and theology. So, I don't need someone trying to convince me that I'm sitting in the heretical hot-chair because I happen to casually watch The Chosen for the sake of having something to binge-watch. Like anything I watch on T.V., even a "Jesus"show, I take what I see with a grain of educated salt.

And yes, I've reviewed your links and I have now learned, thanks to you, that Darrell Eves is a Mormon. We all know that The Chosen is a quasi-diversity effort at making a "Jesus" t.v. series. There are Evangelical Christians leading its creation, with some Mormons sprinkled in along with creative non-Christians and a few LGBTQ folks, all mixed into the overall production effort. That's just the world we live in.

That’s illogical. I am rebuking the unbiblical things in the show to show folks their error in watching it. Many prefer the dazzle of Hollywood and care very little for what the Bible says on such matters. Granted, it may get so bad someday that you may even shut the show off. At least that is what has happened in some Hollywood films involving the woke agenda. Even unbelievers are fed up with the pushing of such an immoral agenda. Granted, I don’t watch secular movies anymore but only Christian ones. But the point here is that anything unbiblical and degrading to Jesus is now being more and more accepted, even if it is a false Jesus.

I used to watch Fringe, and Alias, and many other shows. But I gave them up for my Lord Jesus because of the sinful things and ideas that they pushed within them. This is why you will never understand if you continue down your current line of thinking. You have thrown in the morality towel and given into the world’s entertainment for your own enjoyment and maybe on the hope you may get some moral lesson if your lucky. Again, as mentioned before In this thread, I will bring up 1 John 2:15-17.

1 John 2:15-17

15 ”Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.”

To put it to you another way, what if the laws in this country got so bad that they condoned the abuse of children and they allowed some of these people to work on the 50th season of the Chosen and to openly promote child abuse on the show without any rebuke of such a sin? Would you just shrug your shoulders and say the following words? “Oh well, that’s the world we live in, and I am still going to watch it because I may get something good out of it and I am entertained by it.” I sure hope not. But see if you would be upset over that sin, then why do you give a pass for the sin of Mormonism? Surely you must understand God is upset at the false religion of Mormonism. So if God is upset by Mormonism because it leads people away from the real Jesus, then why associate your enjoyment with something that leads people away from Christ? It makes no sense. But you can eat out of the dumpster to find that prized piece of half eaten chicken leg if you like.

This seems to be your mindless mantra. Even shows can push false beliefs and sinful things that can lead people astray. This is what the show does. Just be careful to listen how serious some folks take this show and it may make you take a step back and rethink your false cry of “It’s just a show!”

I also pointed out your false line of reasoning that shows are just shows and because if they push sinful things in them, they can in fact lead people to sin even if it is fiction. Need I remind you again of cartoon videos that promote sex? It’s just a show and it’s not going to affect anyone, right? No. They can lead people to wrongfully lust. Now, apply that same principle with the Chosen. Their false ideologies and sins they promote can lead people into sin and away from the true Jesus. Think.

But hey. Maybe if you keep crying, “It’s just a show!” a little louder it will drown out all reason of the very serious point I brought up.

Where in Chosen is it sinful?
One example is that you got two followers of Jesus who end up getting drunk, and Christ never tells them to repent of their drunkenness. This is not surprising that many today do not even catch things like this because many falsely believe today that you can sin and still be saved. The Bible says that drunkards will not inherit the Kingdom of God (See: 1 Corinthians 6:10).

Also, here is another example of the show affecting people wrongfully.
People in this thread and others defend a teaching from the book of Mormon.

3 Nephi 12–16
“I Am the Law,…”
(Book of Mormon)

”I am the Law of Moses”
(The Chosen series)

Really not much difference in these statements above here.
It is also not a coincidence seeing the executive producer is a Mormon, and they filmed in sacred Mormon land, etcetera.

This would have been less likely of folks trying to defend this Mormon teaching without the influence of this Chosen show. In other words, if they did not know about this show, and a Mormon wanted to convince these same people in this thread of this teaching in the Book of Mormon, there is a chance that they would be more likely to reject it. But seeing it is from one of their favorite TV shows that dazzles their senses and emotions,….. “All reason goes out the window.”

Seeing how effective TV is to blind people to accept false teachings and sins, it would not surprise me if this is how the enforcement of the Mark of the beast may take place, as well. The devil is not stupid. He is going to tickle’s people’s flesh and let all reason go down the drain.

There are lessons from Scripture (denied in the movie)...
yes, lessons from Scripture for believers - not for those who don't follow Jesus though.
Can't the world go on and as unbelievers "enjoy" the sin ?
Well said. Our mission is to pray, love others who do not see it and warn them with God’s Word, etcetera.
But it is truly sad to see how things have gotten in these last days. Truly disheartening. But despite this, we will continue to march on and shine the love of Christ and His truth and know that there are going to be others in the faith who will truly follow the Lord Jesus and not their own belly.

Do you think at all the public will resist the beast, or agree they have already (possibly) been trained enough to accept the beast - even if the beast claims to be "good" ?
I think some unbelievers will resist because they don’t want to be under the control of any. But many will accept the antichrist (unfortunately).

What about believers who want to be under control of any ? Does Scripture say they will be exceptions from judgment if they follow the enemy ?
I believe according to Scripture that those who worship the beast never had their names in the book of life since the foundation of the world (See: Revelation 13:8, and Revelation 17:8). Meaning, they were never in the Lamb’s book of life at any point, and they were never saved ever because of the exceptionally wrong evil that God knew that they would do in the future. Now, that said, I do believe everyone else who did not worship the beast, Jesus died for their sins on a provisional basis so as to offer them the gift of life if they choose to accept it (So as to be saved). So when Jesus died for the sins of the whole world, this would be everybody —— except those who will worship the beast in the future. I know this may be odd for you or others to hear this but it simply my acceptance of what Revelation 13:8, and Revelation 17:8 plainly says. So if they claimed to be a believer, and they worship the beast, I believe they were never saved ever. Meaning, they never had a true born again experience with the LORD. True believers who are born again will not want to take the mark and they will not want to worship the beast.

Then again some other people may be so full of themselves that they can't stand the idea of apostles being portrayed as human like the rest of us.

It’s not that I don’t disagree that the apostles could at times make mistakes. Surely we see examples of this in the Bible, for sure. The problem is that the show sends a message of a lack of repentance. The Chosen Jesus did not tell them to repent, and or neither did these sinning followers of Jesus seek forgiveness with the Lord over what they did. Therein lies one of the many problems in the show.

Solomon and Samson are examples of God’s grace. But the key difference here is that we are now under the New Covenant and God commands all men everywhere to repent (Acts 17:30). Jesus said, repent or perish (Luke 13:3). I am also aware that God can forgive us a lot. Jesus said we are to forgiven 70 x 7 and this is a parallel of how God forgives (Matthew 18:21-22). Meaning, God will forgive us a lot. His mercy is abundant, but we also cannot justify sin without any repentance (seeking forgiveness with the LORD). We need to confess and forsake sin in order to have mercy according to Proverbs 28:13. The two disciples were drunks and no rebuke of such a sin and or no teaching that one desires forgiveness over such sins means that God is okay with his people sinning. Nothing could be further from the truth. Then again, I suppose that is why the show is popular. It fits this Laodicean age we are living in today.
