Note that Joe Biden had a stutter earlier in his life. He has largely overcome this speech impediment, but when I see him trip over his words in public, I remember that there is an actual disability involved -- one that does not affect his ability to make good political decisions.

Can we criticize some of President/Senator Biden's policies and actions? Sure. But his occasional difficulty in speaking is a different kind of issue.
Yes, but remember, Trump's people have to do what they can with what they have.

Trump
Is a criminal guilty of sexual assault,
Is currently on trial for insurrection, election fraud, and bank fraud
Bungled the pandemic, killing hundreds of thousands of Americans,
A thief who stole top secret documents and shared them with others
Refers to our troops as "suckers" and "losers."

On the positive side,
Trump fast-tracked the COVID-19 vaccines

Biden
Stutters.
Fell off his bike once.
The U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan went badly.

On the positive side, Biden:

Passed the $1.2 trillion bipartisan infrastructure package to increase investment in the national network of bridges and roads, airports, public transport and national broadband internet, as well as waterways and energy systems.

Helped get more than 500 million life-saving COVID-19 vaccinations in the arms of Americans through the American Rescue Plan.

Stopped a 30-year streak of federal inaction on gun violence by signing the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act that created enhanced background checks, closed the “boyfriend” loophole and provided funds for youth mental health.

Made a $369 billion investment in climate change, the largest in American history, through the Inflation Reduction Act of 202

Provided $10,000 to $20,000 in college debt relief to Americans with loans who make under $125,000 a year.

Cut child poverty in half through the American Rescue Plan.

Capped prescription drug prices at $2,000 per year for seniors on Medicare through the Inflation Reduction Act.

Passed the COVID-19 relief deal that provided payments of up to $1,400 to many struggling U.S. citizens while supporting renters and increasing unemployment benefits.

Achieved historically low unemployment rates after the pandemic caused them to skyrocket.

Imposed a 15% minimum corporate tax on some of the largest corporations in the country, ensuring that they pay their fair share, as part of the historic Inflation Reduction Act.

Recommitted America to the global fight against climate change by rejoining the Paris Agreement.

Strengthened the NATO alliance in support of Ukraine after the Russian invasion by endorsing the inclusion of world military powers Sweden and Finland.

Authorized the assassination of the Al Qaeda terrorist Ayman al-Zawahiri, who became head of the organization after the death of Osama bin Laden.

Gave Medicare the power to negotiate prescription drug prices through the Inflation Reduction Act while also reducing government health spending.

Held Vladimir Putin accountable for his invasion of Ukraine by imposing stiff economic sanctions.

Boosted the budget of the Internal Revenue Service by nearly $80 billion to reduce tax evasion and increase revenue.

Created more jobs in one year (6.6 million) than any other president in U.S. history.

Reduced healthcare premiums under the Affordable Care Act by $800 a year as part of the American Rescue Plan.

Signed the PACT Act to address service members’ exposure to burn pits and other toxins.

Signed the CHIPS and Science Act to strengthen American manufacturing and innovation.

Reauthorized the Violence Against Women Act through 2027.

That's how it works. There are positives and negatives on both sides.

There were a couple marquee victories, too, like flipping control of Wisconsin’s state Supreme Court and stopping conservatives from trying to make it more difficult to pass the abortion-rights amendment in Ohio
If you consider the killing of babies is a "marquee victory" you have just highlighted why you and I agree on very little!

Is a criminal guilty of sexual assault,

Seems we have a choice between two who have multiple accusations in their past.
Is currently on trial for insurrection, election fraud, and bank fraud
Biden is under House investigation currently. Because the current farce of a justice system will not do its job.

A lone Parisian (trump hating judge) ruled Trump committed fraud while said Judges wife posted anti Trump statements online that could set the stage for mistrial. Witch hunt. This disgrace of a judge should have recused himself but the lure of posing for the cameras was to much to resist.

Insurrection charged is absurd, it is nothing more that an attempt to keep Trump off of the ballot and is proof of a two tiered system of Justice.

Election fraud by Trump is also absurd. Since when is questioning the results of an election fraud? It wasn't fraud the numerous time Democrats questioned elections and claimed cheating because they lost.

Bungled the pandemic, killing hundreds of thousands of Americans,
Exactly how did Trump bungle and kill thousands of Americans? Just another absurd charge with no evidence. Both Trump and the American public were lied to by Fauci.
A thief who stole top secret documents and shared them with others
Really? How easily to put aside the Biden stealing of documents he wasn't even allowed to have as a Senator. Storing them and others in his garage protected by his Corvette. Having classified documents in multiple unsecured locations. Where is the outrage? Two tiered system of justice.
Refers to our troops as "suckers" and "losers."

Evidence? Two witnesses that were there say it is untrue.

Dan Scavino Jr.
@DanScavino

I was with POTUS in France, with Sarah, and have been at his side throughout it all. Complete lies by “anonymous sources” that were “dropped” just as he begins to campaign (and surge). A disgraceful attempt to smear POTUS, 60 days before the Presidential Election! Disgusting!!

The Atlantic story on @realDonaldTrump is total BS. I was actually there and one of the people part of the discussion - this never happened. I have sat in the room when our President called family members after their sons were killed in action and it was heart-wrenching...

I bet that was hard to give any credit to Trump.

That's being generous since he often has a hard time stringing two sentences together even with notes.
I notice that he beat Trump in a series of debates, according to the Americans who watched them. A low bar, it's true, but again you're making my points for me.

And up and dow the stairs multiple times.
As has Trump. But Biden doesn't need a sippy cup to get a drink of water. To be fair, this might not be part of Trump's struggles with dementia. There's another possible reason. From the American Council on Science and Health:

Are Trump's Problems with Walking, Drinking Water Due to Hydroxychloroquine?

As a vascular surgeon, I am well acquainted with what we call “gait disturbances,” an abnormal walk. I am sure many of you have seen individuals who have suffered from a stroke with partial loss of their leg, which results in a walk that is less fluid.

There are many diagnostic possibilities responsible for a change in our gait. I am, unfortunately, most familiar with structural alterations, e.g., loss of a portion of the foot, or unequal length of limbs. There can be issues related to injury; think of how we might “limp” after injuring our knee. And there can be neurologic causes, related to nerve injury, that leave the muscles weaker or altering proprioception – the sense of the position of the body in space, which is sensory feedback necessary for balance.

In watching the video of President Trump walking down the ramp, he does seem to be favoring one leg. To be fair, his explanation that is was a slippery incline may indeed be true.

But let's now consider the video of him pausing his speech to drink a bit of water. In the video, the president raises a glass, but he can't quite lift it to his mouth. He tilts his head down to get closer to the glass before using his left hand to fully raise the glass to his lips. From a diagnostic point of view, that changes the differential. Because while the gait disturbance has multiple causes, the lifting of the glass suggests a problem of muscular strength.*

So now, we have issues with two sets of muscles: the legs and arms. It would be odd to have an injury that involved two areas not be reported, especially involving the president. The same holds for structural problems, and that moves neuropathy up the differential list. What could be the source of a new-onset neuropathy? I know little of the president’s medical status. That is, except for one, perhaps salient fact: he said he has been taking hydroxychloroquine.

Physicians have rightly been concerned about the cardiac effects of this medication on the heart’s rhythm. But hydroxychloroquine has some other, less frequently cited adverse effects. If you read the FDA required package insert under adverse effects, here is what you will find:

“Musculoskeletal and connective tissue disorders: Sensorimotor disorder, skeletal muscle myopathy or neuromyopathy leading to progressive weakness and atrophy of proximal muscle groups, depression of tendon reflexes and abnormal nerve conduction.” [Emphasis added]

The U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan went badly.

Wow ,we do actually agree on something!
Biden did what he could to make it work, but the timetable the Taliban gave Trump when he surrendered to them, was not sufficient to get all of our equipment or even American citizens out of the country. To Biden's credit, he told the Taliban that it wasn't going to happen as quick as Trump agreed, but he should have given the military more time than they got. Our troops did the best they could with the time they had, but Biden should have given them more time.

I consider turning back an attempt to subvert democracy to be a marquee victory. The despicable ploy on the part of the republicans was to attempt to prevent a majority vote for citizens referendums. If they had limited it to abortion issues, that would have been one thing, but acting according to their ideology they were attempting to stop the people of Ohio from determining the outcome of ballot initiatives.

I'm not accusing you of dishonesty here; I think you merely misunderstood why the people of Ohio decisively defeated that attempted power grab by the republicans. The majority of Ohio voters have repeatedly polled pro-life.

Trump
Is a criminal guilty of sexual assault,

Eight women have accused Biden of behaving inappropriately. He's also been criticized for his comments about young girls on the campaign trail.
Lots of women and girls have accused Trump of inappropriate sexual behavior. He's bragged about being able to get away with it. The point is, a court found Trump to have committed sexual assault. Accusations come easy. But Trump is officially guilty of sexual assault.

Refers to our troops as "suckers" and "losers."

(Sara Huckabee Sanders denies it)

She admitted to lying during a press conference about former FBI director James Comey when she claimed “countless” FBI agents told her they were happy Trump fired him. She confessed under oath during special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation that this was not true, but she downplayed it as a mere “slip of the tongue.”

Gen. John Kelly confirmed Trump's words. Kelly also mentioned that Trump was puzzled why an American soldier would put himself in danger for America, saying "what was in it for them?" Guess who has more credibility.

Remember, Trump was a draft dodger, and disparaged the heroism and sacrifice of Senator John McCain. He despises us.

On the positive side,
Trump fast-tracked the COVID-19 vaccines

I bet that was hard to give any credit to Trump.
Credit where credit is due. He's got a lot of despicable traits, but he got that right.

You are kidding right? Biden's mental state has deteriorated quite a lot since the debates. Just because Biden is the current occupant does not mean the American people in majority thought he won the debate much less the election. Oops did I say that! I must be an election denier, oh well I have been called worse.

No I am not making your points you are making mine.

Putin might disagree with you. Biden pulled a coalition together to derail his war of conquest, got Sweden and Finland (both of which have more formidable armies than Ukraine) into NATO, and caused the Russian economy to shrink.

Trump's own people were sufficiently worried that as his problems increased, he'd do something dangerous:
Here’s a fact you may have missed amid all of the coverage of the allegations and revelations in the new book by Bob Woodward and Robert Costa: The top general in the country believed that President Donald Trump was in significant enough mental decline that he took countermeasures to ensure Trump didn’t start a war with China on his way out the door.

Yes, that actually happened, according to “Peril.” Here’s the relevant passage:

“Woodward and Costa write that [Joint Chief Chairman Mark] Milley, deeply shaken by the assault, ‘was certain that Trump had gone into a serious mental decline in the aftermath of the election, with Trump now all but manic, screaming at officials and constructing his own alternate reality about endless election conspiracies.’

“Milley worried that Trump could ‘go rogue,’ the authors write.

“‘You never know what a president’s trigger point is,’ Milley told his senior staff,” according to the book.

Think about that for a minute. Milley, the top military adviser to the president, a man who undoubtedly spent considerable time with Trump in this period of time, believed that he was in “serious mental decline” triggered by his election loss.
...
And here’s the thing: Milley wasn’t the only person who noticed a change in Trump’s behavior in the wake of the election. House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, a loyal ally of the President, felt the same way. Again, the Woodward/Costa book sheds light here:

“The book details a private call McCarthy had with Trump the night before Biden’s inauguration. According to Woodward and Costa, McCarthy told Trump, ‘I don’t know what’s happened to you in the last two months. … You’re not the same as you were for the last four years.’

And now Trump is acting increasingly unhinged:

Donald Trump’s mental health becomes an issue again

Let’s keep it simple, shall we? If Donald Trump were your grandpa, you’d be having family meetings about how to protect him from himself. Assisted living? A nursing home? Or would it be necessary to have the old man confined to a psychiatric clinic?

One thing’s for sure: Somebody would have to do something.

Over the last couple of weeks alone, the Republican front-runner for the presidency has made a series of bizarre pronouncements that would land an ordinary geezer in a competency hearing.

Trump proposed executing the retiring chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff for treason for reassuring Chinese leaders that the U.S. was not planning an attack. At a California rally, Trump made jokes about Paul Pelosi, the 83-year-old husband of former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who was bludgeoned almost to death a year ago by a hammer-wielding MAGA supporter. The crowd laughed.

He emitted a stream of insults and threats against prosecutors, judges and court personnel involved in the several civil and criminal cases against him. “Deranged,” “psycho,” “monster,” “crackhead,” “animal” and “degenerate psychopath” were among the epithets.
...
Even more bizarrely, Trump bragged at a subsequent rally about having “a much better body” than President Biden and claimed he could beat him in a fistfight. “I think I could go like this,” Trump puffed, “and he’d go down,” as reported by Business Insider. He also claims he’s 6-foot-3 and 215 pounds.

To people with eyes, 6 feet and 275 is more like it. Biden’s three years older, but clearly more fit.

Given Trump's failure in the debates, his odd and erratic behavior in recent months, and Biden's successful use of the U.S. strategic oil reserve to bring down gas prices (and incidentally make a substantial profit for the U.S. government in the process) that certainly made my point for me.

It's not just Trump's clumsy movements and difficulty drinking from a glass. It's his increasingly agitated and strange outbursts about the people he fears and hates. It's his belief that dropping an H-bomb into a hurricane would "disrupt it." It's his fixation that COVID can be cured by injecting one's self with disinfectant. It's his praise of George Washington for seizing the airports at the Battle of Yorktown.

There's something really wrong with him.

What's comical is that republicans can't decide whether they want to convince us that Biden is an evil genius or as demented as Trump.

You only got it half right with Biden, he is far from genius and while Trump is far from perfect he is not demented.

Biden was and still is the part you did get right and Trump in his past was absolutely no saint but he not is absolutely not demented.

With all of your glowing reviews for the former you may end up a very miserable person if Trumps knocks your guy of the stolen throne.

Comes down to evidence. With republicans waffling between "Biden is mentally deficient" and "Biden is an evil genius", they undercut themselves. And as you know, even Trump's former staff are commenting on his ongoing mental decline. Would you like to see that again?

Biden and his evil cohorts/handlers stole the election.
No one actually believes that now. After all the evidence was brought forward, dozens of courts tossed the claim out. Even Trump's own AG said that the election was not stolen. Even Ron DeSantis admitted that Trump lost. Even Trump privately admitted it. Find a way to live with the reality.

I see your denial, but Trump is a guy who praised George Washington for seizing the airports at the Battle of Yorktown, thought you could use an H-bomb to stop a hurricane, wanted people to inject themselves with disinfectant to cure COVID-19, and has trouble drinking from a water glass.

No one still thinks the election was stolen. Even Trump privately admitted that he lost. His own AG investigated and found that he lost. He and his cult raised "sore loser" to new levels. If he should win, it's a certainty that most Americans will be very unhappy. But looking at the way elections and ballot initiatives have been going, republicans have every reason to be miserable. They're losing even in red states.

And "better then Trump" is hardly a "glowing review."

He's getting worse...

Nov. 9 2023
Donald Trump tried to attack “incompetent” foreign policy officials in the Biden administration—before confusing two very different countries.

“We have never been closer to World War III, and only for one reason. We have incompetent people talking on our behalf,” Trump said during an event in Florida that took place at the same time as Wednesday night’s Republican debate.
He then began to defend previous comments in which he lauded various world autocrats. “Well, what am I supposed to say? They’re stupid people?” Trump asked the crowd. Trump named Chinese President Xi Jinping, Russian President Vladimir Putin, and North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un, whom he previously called “smart” and “very talented.”

In classic Trump style, the former president followed up a defensive litany by seemingly confusing North Korea and China. “Kim Jong Un leads 1.4 billion people, and there is no doubt about who the boss is. And they want me to say he’s not an intelligent man.”
The population of North Korea is in fact closer to 26 million, meaning in the best-case scenario, Trump inflated the population by about 1.3 billion people. In the probably more accurate version, Trump mixed up two Asian countries.

China has a population of 1.4 billion, and this isn’t the first time Trump has mixed up countries. During a speech last month, Trump mixed up two fascist leaders who adore him, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Hungary’s Prime Minister Viktor Orbán.

Only 24% of Democrats think they are better off under Biden. Sounds like a winner doesn’t it?
