  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The great falling away?

In a 2020 survey by the Pew Research Center, 65% of adults in the United States identified themselves as Christians. They were 75% in 2015 81.6% in 2001, and 85% in 1990.

Why is God allofasudden electing fewer people to believe on Christ? I'll tell you why. It's because people have become too distracted to seek God. We are entertaining ourselves to death. As Arminians, we can see why this is happening in conjunction with the rise in mobile internet use and the digitization of everything, fewer people are growing up and maintaining Christianity. The faith is declining at a rapid pace in the West and many who claim to be Christian never even read the bible. Why? Because they're too distracted. Too distracted to make room for God in their lives. God electing fewer people is not a coincidence. People are following the world instead of pursuing a relationship with God

This be true. It's called pursuit of self interest. More interest in self than others and putting rights ahead of responsibilities especially to each other. Politicize it all you want but that is the foundation of divisiveness and the fall of every civilization. People want to see life as two sided but there is a third. We will never get back to the Garden so to speak by trying to solve our problems using the same things that created them which in turn leads to even more self seeking.

The Love of many is growing cold

1 Tim 4:1 But the Spirit explicitly says that in later times some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to deceitful spirits and teachings of demons,

2 Tim 4:I solemnly exhort you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and by His appearing and His kingdom: 2 preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; correct, rebuke, and exhort, with great patience and instruction. 3 For the time will come when they will not tolerate sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance with their own desires, 4 and they will turn their ears away from the truth and will turn aside to myths.

TV/Media entertainment is one of the best mediums for "doctrines of demons" and killing the spiritual desire to have a "love of the truth" that mankind and demons have ever come up with.

Yes, even the Chosen is being attacked by it's own.

I'm not sure self-report is an accurate assessment of who is and isn't following Christ. What we're seeing is there is no longer social pressure for people to say they're Christian, so those who were lukewarm moved over to the "nones."

That's a fair point.
