The Soviet Government was up and functioning. That's not the question.

Compromise what beliefs? I won't compromise life nor accept young
people being mutilated chemically and surgically in order to satisfy
an immoral ideology that is being pushed onto society.
Are you seriously concerned that people who are not seeking treatment for ailments and conditions will be forced to endure treatments by roving gangs of medical providers?

I'd rather live in a failed state than support abortion or LGBTQ+ ideology.
Are you saying your idea of compromise is your way or burn it all down?

Fact is, if we keep supporting these, the state will fail.
That's not a fact. Perhaps you don't understand what a "failed state" is?

Do we really know the left wants that? If they do , how about the left explain why?

We could work together on what we might expect from a third party. Starting with should religion be involved. Let's get a list together. Anyone want to start a list thread of expectations. A reasonable list, a serious list? Where we all post what we want to see.

This is what we need more of. Invitation to have a productive dialog instead of assuming the other sides position.

If you are talking just about USA politics and not just in general, how are governments able to function...

I'd say USA seriously needs an overhaul of their political system. It is becoming more and more dysfunctional.

Most collaborations require such as marriage, business partners etc requires some level of congeniality, and integrity and grace, and a willingness to get along and work towards some common goals.

But in USA it seems, more and more so that some people just want to be tribal and combative, and want to sabotage the others and want to pander only to their own base and want to attack anyone else.

What I'm not seeing much of, is considered discussions on economic policies.
What I am seeing too much of, is mischaracterisations of the other side, and fighting over things that aren't actually in the government's policies e.g. "wokeness".

I'm also not seeing much interest in people in criticising their own preferred party or party members.

And the whole 24x7 news channels certainly aren't helping. They need to fill in space, so it mostly becomes opinions and various people just chatting about either what they feel about the news or their predictions of the future.

I also don't like how so many people in USA register an affiliation with a Party. "I'm a registered Democrat" "I'm a registered Republican", "I'm an independant".
It seems if you register then you are associating yourself as a "member" of that party. So then when the election comes around, are you likely to vote otherwise?

USA government system is so broken. You get a party in power, who furiously try to achieve their campaign promises for two years and then are blocked after the mid-terms.

USA as a whole needs to gain faith in their elections, faith in the Justice system, the intelligence agencies, the police etc.
When people promote attacking and destroying faith in these things, then I don't know what you are left with? Just anger, paranoia, hatred, and a willingness to fight.

They always say religion and politics don't mix. I'm in agreement because we can't believe them either way. It's a personal thing . It would be nice but we can't count on it being a part of their decision and should it be?

I think what the poster is asking is what does the left want, please explain.
More specifically...chemically, surgically altered? Are you for that for children and why? This question for the left.

I'm wondering if a truly third party wouldn't do it?
Sure, a National Christian Party which adheres with the views of the charter of that party, which must include NOT allowing gay citizens to marry and not to allow any abortions. I'm all for it..

What I am saying is we need to focus on the things we have in common.

I am guessing we both want children to feel safe and to not kill themselves. Why are we not concentrating on that instead of immediately attacking the entrenched positions?

What is the road to peace among the parties?
Just wait.

There have been times of political unrest in the US.

The political situation will be much different after the 2028 election.
===============
The Democrats will have their left of center party.

The rest of the country has decisions to make.

I do NOT want peace between the party of Trump and the party of Biden. Both will be gone in the next 5 years.

I should of thought of that. That's perfect but we still wouldn't know if the person running is a Christian. Republican, democrat, Christian. What would be our logo? Elephant, donkey, angel?

That does not answer my question. The whole point of the thread is to have a constructive conversation and you seem bound and determined to derail that. Why?
