I feel like I still communicate with him. Maybe it is my imagination, but I feel good about it. For example, I saw something in the news about how Tony Hawk was 55.
My responses to you were focused on this matter. You yourself said
"Maybe it is my imagination."
I agree. And I cautioned you about demonic activity. They have thousands of years of experience deceiving people.
I prayed and asked my son if he remembered Tony Hawk.
If you prayed TO your son who unfortunately has departed, what biblical ground do you have to pray TO deceased people.
Since I felt this was a tragic situation skating close to unbilbical deception, I responded in love to that with warning.
I don't grovel. Once I say I am sorry you were offended I do not beg for anything from you.
I expressed once clearly that I am sorry you felt attacked and offended.
The rest is between you and the Lord. My conscience is at peace.
Where do you get support from the Bible to PRAY to those who have departed?
The answer I got back was: Tony Hawk, lots of his fans are in Heaven and the biggest skate park in Heaven is named after him. Because my son was homeless I asked once about his mansion in Heaven, but they would not tell me anything.
You said yourself -
"Maybe it is my imagination, . . . "
I agree because your whole concept of Heaven being filled with mansions is erroneous to begin with.
John 14:2,3 is not about the superstitious belief that Jesus went to Heaven to prepare luxurious mansions.
In My Father’s house are many abodes; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you.
And if I go and prepare a place for you, I am coming again and will receive you to Myself, so that where I am you also may be.
It is the natural superstitious mind which has perpetuated the belief that for two thousand years Jesus has been
preparing mansions - hanging curtains, hanging chandeliers, laying beatiful rugs, setting up other furniture for MANSIONS
for each saved person.
The words more accurately translated-
"for I go to prepare a place for you" mean He is going to the CROSS to die
a redemptive death. Because He goes to die and rise for sinners He prepares a place for them in God.
The word
"abodes" as in
In My Father’s house are many abodes refers to sinners redeemed within He will come and
make an "abode" in them. The same word which is pluralizedin verse 2 is found in the singular in verse 23.
Jesus answered and said to him, If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word, and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make an abode with him. (John 14:23)
Jesus was a man in God the Father and the Father in Him. He goes away to accomplish a redemptive death on the cross and a glorious
resurrection to "
to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I am coming again and will receive you to Myself, so that where I am you also may be."
As He is the dwelling place of God He assures us that this dwelling place of God has many abodes. All the redeemed and indwelt
human beings are the many abodes. He went to the cross that where He is we may be also - in the Father and the Father in us.
So your imagination about mansions in Heaven that you prayed to your son about is based on superstitious natural minded religious
concepts. I urge you to drop that thought for good - Jesus in Heaven preparing luxury mansions for each saved person.
Instead realize Lord Jesus who was the house of God went to EXPAND the capacity of that living house by His redeeming death.
If it were not possible for others to enjoy this mutual dwelling of the Father in man, He would have TOLD us so.
In My Father’s house are many abodes; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you.
And if I go and prepare a place for you, I am coming again and will receive you to Myself, so that where I am you also may be.
Before He died and rose He alone was this living house or temple of God.
Jesus answered and said to them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.
Then the Jews said, This temple was built in forty-six years, and You will raise it up in three days?
But He spoke of the temple of His body. (John 2:19-21)
Before His crucifixion He encouraged His dispondent disciples that this death was Him going away to prepare
a way that they TOO could enter into His mystical Body to be abodes in the Father's house.
Even though I persisted. Then finally they said he has a skate park in his back yard the size of the skate parks that the cities here have. So I thought that was pretty neat. I have a lot of stories like that and sometimes I have vivid dreams where I see a lot more. Because communication with lost loved ones is a lot like texting. I think the messenger angels carry the messages back and forth.
Remember, you yourself admitted -
"Maybe it is my imagination."
Yes, I agree that it is your imagination that you are having conversations with a departed loved one.
In your next post to me tell me where you have a Bible teaching that any one of us can pray to a departed human being.
