Nothing connected to atheism.

Remember that being an atheist is a non-belief. There are no atheist ideologies or dogma or rules or observances or sacred books. There's no such thing as behaving like an atheist. Unlike Christianity, atheism has no real impact on day-to-day life.

In my case I've never had a belief in a god, so I don't miss it.

LOL

I've come across Christians who seemed to think that an atheist would celebrate Christmas by sitting alone in a darkened room muttering "Bah! Humbug".

I may add a few such as:
Where do you believe you came from, what made you?

I have no idea how we're here. As far as being a human goes... we're a product of evolution.

Were you raised in any biblical belief?

Yes, I was.

Generally, do you all agree with each other? Is there one particular thing most of you disagree on.

Atheists come in all shapes and sizes, I'd wager most of us are more on the progressive side. Although, as atheism grows, I think so will diversity of thought. It is much easier to become an atheist than in the past. Mainly due to the internet. The common man is exposed to so much these days.. even if they live in a rural area.

What do you think your eventual end will be after death.

Probably cease to exist. Like the time before I was born.

Since you don't believe in the bibles laws, etc. Do you generally believe in the morals and guidance to be a good person provided by it. I'm sure you've got an idea what those are even though you haven't studied it.

Hmm.. that's an interesting question. Maybe more so the New Testament?

Were you raised with any religious belief? Did you go to church when young?

Yes, I was, and we went to church. Christianity was hyper important in my family. I actually loved going to church a lot. Despite never really finding much in common with my Church peers. Spirituality always deeply spoke to me, and just being at a Church was enough. As a teenager I'd go to all the services that were available to someone my age.

As christians we don't condone many things in anyway such as homosexuality. Do you have many of the same restrictions?

We can't promote such things here.. but most atheists have a hard time finding a reason to be against it. I have met a few atheists who are though.

Does anything rule over you, such as a god like ours?

The government? Lol.

Thank you for your candidness.

I SAY AGAIN, THIS IS FOR ENLIGHTENMENT ONLY. NO ONE IS TO POST HERE OTHER THEN NON BELIEVERS AND ME. NO DEBATE OR REMARKS

It's alright. I quite enjoy these questions.

I don't post about Christianity or spirituality very often... some of my views I fear are very offensive to some. I don't get any joy from that, so I mostly just keep my mouth shut. I actually really just want to discuss the mechanism of spiritualty... especially with former theists. But I don't get the chance very often to. I do find it interesting reading posts from some atheist here, especially those who were never religious. It's such a stark difference between what I experienced.

This is why I go with “Deist”; I jokingly “worship” Sol, (if only as the only thing that we know of) that actually drives life on our planet.
My mind must be confused, but does that mean you "worship" the sun or am I actually taking things too literally? :p

(Yes, I know you put worship in " " )

The second clause of my sentence explained the thing that hung you up so much that you’ve obviously missed the second clause of my sentence.

The sun “causes” life on our planet; the very thing with which we can have communion.
Some ascribe the sun as being “created”, I do not, and therefore my “worship” goes to the “thing” (rather than the supposed creator (of the thing)).

If one is “devout” and overdoes the “worship” the sun will burn one.

I'm pretty much a homophobic and lately it's obvious to me when someone floods the forums with this topic to draw out those that are interested in the same sex for friendship or relationship. Is this something that should go on here or is my homophobic side overactive? I do believe all Christians should be against these relationships so why should it be allowed to pursue on the forum?
What floods?

I watched Johnny Carson last night, it used to be a regular thing for me but he got lost in the shuffle, anyway he had Orson Welles on the show and if that wasn't a treat Then came Orson Bean, he's a character. I really enjoyed Orson Welles, always. It made me wonder why no reruns of Jay Leno, my favorite of all?

Do you still have to get a blood test to get married? Is that world wide. I've forgotten why. Diseases?
We got married in 1993 and didn't need to do a blood test. But yeah, testing for syphillis.

I thought one of the reasons was to identify Rh incompatibility. in parents to be.

The short answer is no.

US state laws requiring blood tests were progressively repealed from the 1970s. It was never worldwide although tests were required in some European countries. Some middle eastern countries still require a test,

The tests were basically looking for a range of diseases.

See Wiki link below for details.
