I have no idea where this idea of "open borders" comes from. Our southern border isn't "open". Illegal border crossings have been on the decline for decades, and that trend has been continuing regardless of who has been in the White House. Since Biden's been in office apprehensions and deportations have actually skyrocketed (
CBP Enforcement Statistics Fiscal Year 2023)
Where does this idea even come from? What actual evidence do you have that the Biden administration is "determined to flood the US with immigrants"?
And are we talking undocumented, legal, or both?
First we'd need evidence of the claim in the first place. Where's that evidence?
Speculation and conspiracy theories are fun and all. But where's the evidence?
I'd also point out that the things said in that Newsmax article are precisely the kinds of things that video from Holy Post I shared in post #106 as being inherently un-Christian thinking. Christians don't withhold what they have out of a fear of scarcity, Christians give generously and abundantly because we trust in the providence of God, in God's abundant provision for us.
"
Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened. Or which one of you, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a serpent? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him?
So whatever you wish others would do, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.
Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few." - Matthew 7:7-14
"
Jesus looked up and saw the rich putting their gifts into the offering box, and He saw a poor widow put in two small copper coins. And He said, 'Truly, I tell you, this poor widow has put in more than all of them. For they all contributed out of their abundance, but she out of her poverty put in all she had to live on.'" - Luke 21:1-4
"
And He said to His disciples, 'Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat, nor about your body, what you will put on. For life is more than food, and the body more than clothing. Consider the ravens: they neither sow nor reap, they have neither storehouse nor barn, and yet God feeds them. Of how much more value are you than the birds! And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life? If then you are not able to do as small a thing as that, why are you anxious about the rest? Consider the lilies, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass, which is alive in the field today, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, how much more will He clothe you, O you of little faith! And do not seek what you are to eat and what you are to drink, nor be worried. For all the nations of the world seek after these things, and your Father knows that you need them. Instead, seek His kingdom, and these things will be added to you.
Fear not, little flock, for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom. Sell your possessions, and give to the needy. Provide yourselves with moneybags that do not grow old, with a treasure in the heavens that does not fail, where no thief approaches and no moth destroys. For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.'" - Luke 12:22-34
It is faithlessness that would have us horde for ourselves rather than provide for others. To say, "What is mine is mine, and must remain mine" is the mindset of the old man, indulgent upon his flesh; not the mind of Christ. Christ says to give yourself away, for in losing your life you shall find it; in giving you shall receive. It is the least who will be called greatest.
Every valley shall be lifted up, and every mountain shall be made low. He shall exalt the lowly and humble the arrogant. He shall remove crowns from kings and crown slaves as royalty.
You worry about America, but you should be concerned with your neighbor who hungers--whether they look like you, speak your language, or not. You, be like the Samaritan who seeing the Jewish man on the side of the road left for dead, did not consider the differences in nation or religion reason enough to let a hurt person not be cared for--but brought him to the inn and paid for his stay and recovery.
You, who call yourself by the Holy Name of Christ our God, give and expect nothing in return. Turn the other cheek, do not respond to evil with evil, if your coat is demanded, offer your shirt as well. If you are demanded to go one mile, go two. If you love only your own and who love you in return, what good is that? Don't even the wicked do that? Therefore be merciful as your Father is merciful, who sends His rain on the just and unjust alike, who is kind to the ungrateful and the wicked.
If we call ourselves "Christian", then we confess one Lord, Jesus Christ.
And His Commandment is Law. Our loyalty and allegiance is to Him as King, for our citizenship is in heaven (Philippians 3:20) and as we tread down here we are immigrants, and resident aliens--for our native land is a kingdom of the heavens over which God is King and Christ is Lord.
Stop putting yourself first and put Jesus first.
Stop putting America first and put Jesus first.
Iesous Christos Kyrios.
