I can rest now for 70 hours before going back for six days straight, so I'll be okay after hopefully a lengthy and undisturbed sleep tonight.

And indeed, it was. Thanks to everyone who prayed for me. *bows*

I decided to disassemble my fan for a thorough cleaning, and the process of reassembling it turned into a puzzling ordeal that consumed more than an hour. Needless to say, the fan is now clean and operational. It's safe to conclude that I have no business using a screwdriver, but I sure do enjoy it...

The one I had lasted over 10 years and it was my favorite all-time fan. I can't sleep without a fan. I just replaced it because it was having troubles and man the new fan is SO powerful! I love it.

Having a good fan is honestly such a treat!

Also! I accidentally knocked one of my hair removal wax cover on a carpet during transport, fell wax side down.

I did find a solution! Using a brown paper bag and a warm/hot iron without any steam, pressing the iron over the paper bag laid over the wax residue will lift it from the carpet into the bag. You need to keep shifting the bag about, but it works. Then pour some acetone nail-polish remover and scrub with a paper towel, then use the iron and paper bag again to pull up anything else. Boom, problem solved. Pro tip, seems to work for various types of wax spills, including candle wax. I didn't test the candle wax, but I'm going to assume candle wax would be way easier and quicker.

I don't know how you're not dreading the next set of six in a row. :puff:

I guess it helps when the lab manager (hopefully you remember some of my stories over the last five years about the dreaded Nel), after so many of our complaints to HR about his nonsense over the last several months, is demoted from manager to a position where he now hardly has to interact with the rest of the lab, and is basically told never to bother any of the lab techs again.

But, oh, he tried again just a few days ago in an email to my group "reminding" us to keep doing a certain daily task he once before expected as the manager. He tried ....

I received some new books in the mail today, and they came with a flyer/link to a website offering a free book:

Hearts of Fire - The Voice of the Martyrs

The book is available for free and also includes a complimentary monthly subscription to Voices of Martyrs, which offers valuable insights into the persecution faced by Christians worldwide. There is a second free book available after that, where you have an option to donate but it's not necessary. The focus of these resources is on raising awareness about the global persecution of Christians.

On November 5th, they are organizing a global prayer event, and they also provide free resources to help your church leaders set up for it. I thought it would be beneficial to share this opportunity with all of you.

I've been reading a lot of Goosebumps recently. Just for fun, not anything serious. Is that childish? lol :p

I don't think it's childish, I think it's kind of endearing. Revisiting things that brought joy during your childhood can be genuinely uplifting assuming they aren't horrible things!

Nothing wrong with being child-LIKE now and then :) Not the same as childish. I enjoy re-reading my favorite novels from childhood all the time!

I went through that recapturing Goosebumps phase not that long ago myself, actually. Even though I know it mostly sucks, it was a fun romp down childhood nostalgia lane. So nothing wrong with that. ^_^
