I have a question and I’m confused

I’m a Bible believing Christian. I would like to attend an actual church but I’m very confused on which one to attend since there are so many different denominations. There are a few different denominations in my area. What do I do? Can anyone offer me any advice? Thank you.

My suggestion would be to pray about it and look for a church that matches what the Bible says. I recommend studying the Bible for yourself and claim the promise of scripture that the Holy Spirit will teach us all everything God says John 14:26 (His Word). Have an open heart and be willing to go with what matches the Word of God. Maybe try a couple churches, but continue to pray earnestly. God bless!

Do you have any questions about particular denominations? There are a number of folks here from different backgrounds that may be able to answer them.

If you don't know anything about any of the denominations or churches, you might try visiting one or two Sundays in each of the churches in your area, to get a sense of their beliefs, practices, and styles of worship.

Do you have any idea at the moment of what your theological beliefs are, or what style of worship brings you close to God? If you have a sense of either of those, I might be able to suggest a denomination that's a good fit for you.

Well, I have been to Catholic, Lutheran, Methodist, Baptist, Nondenominational, Unity & Pentecostal churches in the past. However, I need to find something that’s close to me like within walking distance, and the only church that would be within walking distance is an Episcopalian church, which I have never been to to date. I’m extremely open to different denominations, but they all seem fine to me when I have attended them but then I start to wonder if these are churches are something I should be attending. I don’t want to attend something that I shouldn’t. Not trying to offend anybody who attends these churches it’s just that I have a great need to find something for me that feels completely right. I hope that this makes sense.

I like the feeling because I was raised Catholic BUT I also like the Lutheran style AND also at the same time, I like more of a strict Bible believing church BUT I like the Pentecostal music. Yes, I think that would be a good idea for me because I’m very open minded when it comes to denominations. I do enjoy going to different churches but now I’m very limited on where I can go since I will be walking. I also feel like I need to find a church that I can just go to and feel comfortable at and be OK with everything that I’m looking for in a church does that make sense?

I like the denomination that I attend - but in general the principle is the same - find a church that teaches correct Bible doctrine.

Thank you that is what I have heard about the Episcopalian and since there’s one right up the way, I think next Sunday I will go up there and see what they are all about.

I do have a family member that attends a Baptist church but I don’t want to attend a church with a family member and their extended family member only because I want to just go & be myself if you can understand that. I’ve already told my family member that’s how I feel and they’re cool with that they understand.

I feel like the extended family member would try to sway me into going to that church because honestly that’s how that person is. They feel that their denomination is the best and only denomination and I don’t feel that way at all. I think all denominations have something to offer it’s just a matter of finding the right one that you vibe with. Yes, as I said, I do enjoy going to many denominations. I like to learn about different denominations and their backgrounds-all of those things it’s how I was raised. Even though I was raised Catholic I was still raised this way and it’s something that has always stuck with me.

Maybe somebody is wondering why I don’t attend a Catholic Church today. Well, I have certain reasons for that although I do still find the whole religion beautiful I just have some minor issues with it as a whole now as an adult but I wouldn’t be opposed to still going to one here and there because again I’m open minded in that way, and it does give me a sense of familiarity and comfort.
