  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Each rely on others for their safety. I see no difference.
A zygote doesn't rely on others for it's safety. It relies on one single womb inside of one single woman.

Shouldn't she have a say in the matter?

-- A2SG, or doesn't she matter at all?

It's still a human and has a right to exist and be safe.

A law demanding a vasectomy and a law protecting the unborn are different.
What is the difference?

And why are they different?

-- A2SG, nearing on that point you're missing.....

Unborn children should be protected because they're the most vulnerable. Simple.

A vasectomy has nothing to do with unborn children.

Again, who said it wasn't human?

Does a person with two failing kidneys have a right to exist and be safe, too? Can you be forced to provide your spare kidney so they'll survive?

They won't if you don't.

-- A2SG, still circling that point from before....

No. Yes, they have a right to exist, and no one can be forced to do anything. I don't see how this is relevant?

(not to ramble on, but I literally have one kidney, so it's interesting you bring that up)

A law demanding a vasectomy and a law protecting the unborn are different.
Sadly it seems that a law demanding a vasectomy might be enforceable and accomplished with quite a bit of support.
While a law protecting the unborn would take millions of dollars every day out of someone's pockets, and they would continue for the money making and ignore the law... even though they suffer God's vengeance on the day appointed.

How sad.

Sadly, yes. This was on several documentaries recently. Organ harvesting, even from unwilling persons, even if they die, continues growing furiously for the great amount of money obtained (including so much for bribes without even a second thought) ....

Unborn children should be protected because they're the most vulnerable. Simple.
So it's about vulnerability now? What about that guy with two failing kidneys? Isn't he vulnerable?

A vasectomy has nothing to do with unborn children.
There's a point to that question. You're still missing it.

-- A2SG, answer it, and maybe that point will be clearer.....

I'm confused how this has to do with the discussion?

Telling a woman it's wrong to have an abortion is not the same as vasectomy if that is what you are trying to get at. The unborn child in her still has a right to life.

You'd force a woman to use her womb for something she doesn't want to. That's the relevance.

It's just a hypothetical. I don't really need your kidney.

-- A2SG, it can just be a hypothetical second kidney.....

Heck, if the zygote were outside of a womb, it can't even breathe!
Fetuses don’t breathe air, no, but the diaphragm does move up and down and the lungs are filled with amniotic fluid.

#1. How so, she had sex, so she knew what she was getting into.
#2. I just thought it was interesting you mentioned that. That's all :)

Yeah, I've heard of that urban legend too.

About 30% of abortions are from married women.
