A judge let this Jan. 6 defendant deliver his FedEx route. But FedEx says he doesn’t work there.

A spokesperson for FedEx told Raw Story that Beals was under evaluation by an independent contractor that provides ground delivery services for FedEx in the Chattanooga, Tenn. area, but that he ultimately was not hired and has no association with FedEx.

“He never provided services for FedEx and won’t be in the future,” a FedEx corporate official, who requested his name not be published to speak candidly, told Raw Story on Monday afternoon. “That independent contractor cut ties with him.”

Reached by phone by Raw Story on Tuesday morning, Beals responded with an expletive-laden tirade.

Beals has previously acknowledged that he has a criminal record for second-degree assault with a deadly weapon, and he has a documented history of harassing people at drag shows across Tennessee during the past nine months. Beals previously worked as a union carpenter, and in June 2021, the Tennessee Valley Authority banned him from its facilities, citing his “unauthorized access to the United States Capitol on January 6, 2021.”

Is there a case for Beals yet? I can't seem to find one.

(I did find this case that is otherwise uninteresting except for the signature of the requesting officer. I don't think he really cares about it.

RawStory is paywalling me now, but they seem to have a story on the charging. I did find his letter trying to get his security clearance back at the TVA.

Odd. I couldn't find it on "RECAP" under either DDC or the EDTN (where he would have been arrested). We've known (from reporters) that he lost his job with TVA for being in the riot a while back without arrest. (I think he worked at Watts Bar NPP.)

From the shocked-well-not-that-shocked department:

Perhaps one of the most obnoxious defendants, who showed up to the Capitol wearing a fake yarn beard:

Brandon Fellows (not to be confused with Brian Fellows host of "Safari Planet"), has been on trial in DC for the usual bundle of trespass misdemeanors plus an "obstruction of an official proceeding" felony. He's representing himself as he seems incapable of working with others or following instruction. (Earlier he was remanded to custody after harassing the mother of his federal probation officer.)

He's said any number of things in court and after the case was presented to the jury and the jury went off to deliberate the judge found him in CRIMINAL CONTEMPT and sentenced him to 5 months (for the contempt) to serve after the trial.
The judge:

On August 29, 2023, in open court and while on the witness stand, but outside the presence of the jury, Defendant Brandon Fellows called the Court a “kangaroo court.” He made that statement in response to the Court’s suggestion that it may limit his opportunity for a re- direct examination due to his repeated flouting of the Court’s instructions to answer leading questions with a yes or no and to avoid editorializing comments about the trial and the prosecutor’s questions. The Court also notes that after it informed the Defendant that it was holding him in contempt, he called the Court a “Nazi court.”

Tarrio's sentencing has been delayed. DOJ originally said there was an 'emergency', but the court say nope, everything's perfectly all right. We're fine. We're all fine here, thank you. How are you?

The judge got sick. Tarrio will be sentenced on Tuesday afternoon, Nordeen on Friday afternoon. The other 3 will proceed in their expected slots (Thursday morn/afternoon, Friday morning).

Finally the case is unsealed. Beals was arrested last Thursday, but the case was only available on the electronic docket today:

He managed to pick up a fairly rare theft charge and the even rarer "false statements" (18 USC 1001) charge for lying to the FBI.

As Ryan Reilly notes in his article more Jan6ers have misidentified the Capitol as the White House (including Beals) than have been charged for lying to the FBI during their interviews.

Capitol rioter who bragged he 'took the White House' charged with lying to the FBI

Proud Boys leader Joe Biggs sentenced to 17 years in January 6 case

Joe Biggs was convicted by a Washington, DC jury of several charges including seditious conspiracy for attempting to forcibly prevent the peaceful transfer of power from then-President Donald Trump to Joe Biden after the 2020 election.

Biggs, Kelly ruled earlier in the hearing Thursday, was subject to harsher sentencing penalties for domestic terrorism

At least Stewart Rhodes is still #1 at something.

[ETA: Zachary Rehl got 15 years.]

In addition to the contempt conviction which will keep him in jail until sentencing, Fellows was found guilty on all five counts (including obstruction of an official proceeding - felony ) by the jury. But not before the jury sent this note (with reply) to the judge:

Recall that Fellows was held pre-trial due to harrassment of his pre-trial services officer and her mother.

John Eastman, awaiting potential indictment, asks judge to postpone his disbarment proceedings

Miller said the growing concern about criminal charges might prompt Eastman to assert his Fifth Amendment rights during disbarment proceedings.
No Fif for you

Judge Yvette Roland of the State Bar Court rejected the petition, holding that Eastman had already waived his right against self incrimination by testifying for upwards of eight hours without once pleading the Fifth about matters related to electoral interference in Fulton County.

A case of having one's cake and eating it.

It is not going well for Eastman, is it?

FBI searches for growing [but single-digit] number of Jan. 6 fugitives

The prosecution related to the Jan. 6, 2021 siege is the largest in American history, with approximately 1,100 criminal defendants from nearly every state. Though more than 600 of those defendants have pleaded guilty and dozens more have gone to trial, at least six became – or were — fugitives over the course of this summer. Some are still wanted by the FBI. Eric Bochene was one of them.

He was defiant during some hearings, invoking language consistent with the sovereign citizen movement. In one set of court filings, Bochene unsuccessfully asked the court to pay him $75,000 an hour in fees for his legal services in his own case. Bochene signed one court filing with a red fingerprint.

Bochene failed to appear for a mandatory pretrial status conference in Washington, D.C. on July 18. A judge issued a warrant for Bochene's arrest, which led to Bochene's capture by U.S. Marshals in the southern tier of New York and a court appearance in Binghamton on Aug. 2.

Bochene, who pleaded guilty to the charge of entering a restricted building, faces up to one year in prison at sentencing in November. [But he has to stay in jail until sentencing, due to his vanishing act.]

Previously in Bochene news:

This is a totally different Jan 6 sovereign citizen type, Eric Bochene©. He wants $100K per day if his prosecution continues, beginning 72 somethings after receipt of this notice.
