  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Harrison Floyd has been locked behind bars with no way to get out of jail after turning himself in to face charges for his role in helping former President Donald Trump challenge the results of the 2020 election in Georgia.
Floyd surrendered to Fulton County authorities Thursday and was the only one of the 19 defendants in the case not to have a consent bond order allowing him to make a plea and leave,

I don’t know why he doesn’t have a consent bond in place and I’m just spitballing here but maybe it has something to do with being accused of body slamming an FBI agent.

At one point during Floyd's interaction with authorities, he allegedly yelled at officers to "get out" and made false claims that the agents hadn't identified themselves or shown their identification before following him up a staircase to serve him the subpoena.

Floyd later called the police after the agents left and told them that two agents "accosted" him, which the agents denied, according to the affidavit. He also allegedly said the agents were "lucky" he didn't have a gun on him "because I would have shot" one of them.

“There are grounds for bond to be denied at this point,” [Judge] Richardson said. “I’m going to go ahead and find that you are a risk to commit additional felonies and a potential risk to flee the jurisdiction. So I’m going to deny bond, but a full consideration of bond will be addressed” by Judge McAfee, who will preside over the case.
Floyd does not have representation and told the judge that he could not afford a private attorney. Richardson told Floyd he did not meet the eligibility requirements for obtaining a public defender.

It's possible there's a couple explanations.

1) Perhaps what he's saying is true and he doesn't have legal representation which means they couldn't negotiate a sweetheart deal like the other co-defendants. (I'll explain below why that's unlikely)

2) Possible the opposing side is correct and that he could be a flight risk.

3) Possible that this is some sort of "prove a point" moment in which he's "diving on the grenade" (at the behest of his cronies) so to speak to prove some point about how "see, it's actually the democrats that are racists" (we'll know in a few days if that's the case, because DJT will use it as a talking point and it'll be parroted by conservative media no less than a dozen times)

4) Trump is hanging him out to dry like he did to Jenna Ellis

It's reported/estimated that Harrison Floyd has a 7-figure net worth, therefore option 1 is highly unlikely, and therefore, logically, option 4 is unlikely as if you're a millionaire, Trump not "hooking you up with legal defense funds" should be a non-factor.

Some additional information that could be an explaining factor:

This isn’t that hard of a riddle. It’s in your additional information that mentions him previously assaulting an FBI agent. Lack of attorney due to Trump not footing the bill is contributing but the judge I’m sure is quite upset that this guy is violent and see little reason to be overly accommodating because of that.

Is he the only defendant not released? - yes, no
Is he black? yes, no

Kind of easy unless one overthinks it.

I'll take your answer as a yes.
I agree these are simple observations. What is the point of the thread?

We know the point of the thread. Let's not overthink it.

Of course the truth is the man attacked law enforcement when he was served a subpoena, and bond was denied so he was detained. Maybe he should have not body-slammed the officer? Law & Order....

Trump co-defendant was previously charged with assaulting an FBI agent

Zoë Richards
William Prescott Floyd, who faces three counts in the Georgia election case, was charged in May with assaulting a federal officer, recently unearthed court documents show.

Of course the truth is the man attacked law enforcement when he was served a subpoena, and never pre-arranged bond before going to court, so he was detained.
It's only bad to play the race card when the left does it.
