  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Texas first grader traumatized by poster of "different colored children holding hands"; school trustee works to remove such 'ideology' from classrooms

I went to Liberal public schools in a Liberal state. I have countless examples of Leftist indoctrination. Fortunately I escaped their oppression, and found refuge in a place where people think like I do.
Your anecdote is not relevant to the thread.

I'm sure that this kind of picture of America could be traumatic to those children whose parent's have taught them White supremacist ideology, perhaps including the belief the blacks need to be segregated and sent back to Africa. In my life, a majority of parents is some states would be horrified and traumatized by such pictures, and would have passed that outrage on to their kinds.

How many children have been taught in their churches that one should be playing with those of other races.

This country has changed a lot since 1954, but some are still traumatized.
=====================================
The BOTTOM LINE for me is that the majority absolutely refuses to make America again as it was in 1953 or 1963 or 1973. Some would choose another time perhaps 1823 or 1923.

America became a nation of immigrants between 1820 and 1920, when the doors were closed in order to Make America White Again. Then the doors to immigrants were opened once again in 1965. Many would close the doors again as we did in 1920.

I wonder if they were indoctrinated by their parents for racism.
I had considered that it might have been exactly the opposite.

If a child was raised in a fine Christian home that is color blind; and in the 1st grade he is traumatized by a Liberal message that harps on racial division in America; I can understand why his parents might be offended.

I really don't see much of this Dixicrat mentality these days. Perhaps it would be better to wait for children to lean more about the history of the Democratic Party in High School History.

We don't. Nevertheless, whether it's real or imaginary, it was cited as a pretext for exerting even more of a chilling effect on teacher autonomy in their classroom displays -- "to avoid 'situations like that'". Whatever that might actually be.
Well, as far as that goes, I don’t know how much autonomy a teacher should have in that area.

Conroe ISD trustee argues displays of racial inclusivity and pride in classrooms should be removed

One trustee says a child was traumatized by a poster showing different colored children holding hands and had to switch classrooms.

Dungan [the trustee] wouldn't say whether she found that poster objectionable, just that she wants to avoid "situations like that" by having the board adopt stricter standards and adhere to state policies already in place, prohibiting teachers from displaying political items not relevant to curriculum.
I agree. Children have always figured things out... no need for the Left's self-righteous sneaky indoctrination method of continually playing the race card (and any other card that serves their voting agenda), which like the rest of their policies have created more division than ever before.

Are you talking about Sunday school?
of continually playing the race card
Link?
(and any other card that serves their voting agenda),
A voting agenda in an elementary school?
which like the rest of their policies have created more division than ever before.
The GOP is creating division with their racist policies.

The fact is, an unverifiable anecdote is not an answer.
I verified it for you; that is unless you are implying that I'm a liar.

If that is what you believe; then why bother to continue in folly?

Aside from that, I see that you haven't disclosed what political message was behind it.
More importantly, neither did the person complaining about the alleged political message behind it.

Are you sure? Did you attend the conference; or are you making an assumption based on what was not reported by your biased source?

It will certainly be more efficient if elementary school teachers don't spend their own money and time on decorating their classrooms. They need only put up an Outline of the School Curriculum. Everything relevant to the curriculum will be present, and everything not relevant to the curriculum doesn't belong in the classroom.

What a revolutionary idea! That way children could focus on subjects that would teach them to be self sufficient.

That's because you are not looking at the Left's real target with the race card in schools... the non-White parents.
