  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

My birthday is on the 5th of July. Because of the time zone difference I'm almost a day ahead of you.

Right now its 9.30pm on Tuesday 4 July on the US west coast

Where I live on the east coast of Australia it's 2.30 pm on Wednesday 5 July.

Thanks Paidiske

(I like to confuse the Americains with time zones. I once explained to a young American chappie that, not only was it tomorrow where I lived, the moon was also upside down. He thought I was kidding him)

OB

Try it from Guam where, as the signs say, America's day begins!

It's autumn there too, isn't it?

That blows my mind!

It's mid-Winter.

Where I live it's 22 Celsius (71 degrees Fahrenheit) today. That's about as cold as it normally gets during the day.

Some people are actually wearing shoes to the supermarket.

22! I'm jealous. It'll get to 13 here today. In fact, that's the warmest it will get all week. :bbrr:

About three years back I was forced to spend time in Melbourne in mid-winter. I nearly died.

I made the mistake of getting a haircut while I was down there. My haircut is #2 clippers all over (very short).

I stepped out of the barbers - instant brain freeze in the Antarctic gale.

(I bought a beanie)

When I moved up to Albury, I naively hoped that would mean warmer weather (I mean, four hours north, it's gotta be heading in the right direction, no?)

No. Here the wind just comes straight off the snow fields, and is no less bitter. Sigh.

No. just a normal meal:
  • A scored salmon fillet rubbed with hot English mustard and fried along with baby tomatoes
  • Half an avocado dressed with olive oil and balsamic vinegar
  • Cold noodles with a finely chopped salad mix and a dash of passata.
All washed down with a bottle of Chardonnay.

For desert:
  • Crepes filled with strawberries sliced and marinated in sugar, topped with a little cream
(I wonder what the poor people are eating tonight )

I'm not really a fan of salmon, although I have found a recipe for blackberry-glazed salmon that I consider edible in a pinch.

I'm planning ragu and risotto for dinner. If this isn't the weather for it, I don't know what is!

I can't believe you. Are you a chef? We have competing chefs shows here on tv. Let me know when you will be on. They come from everywhere to compete. Surely you will beat your parents as healthy as you eat.
Me? KFC.
